The obligatory PC vs. XBOX thread...

Nope, can be done over VGA. Problem is, AFAIK about 99.9% are still only 720p or something similar. And most people don't have "Full HD" TVs yet, so 720p is (atm) the preferred resolution.

you mean it's preferred, if you only HAVE 720p :D

1080p > 720p/1080i

thats a pity, cause ive seen some new games in 1080p, and 720p. (even on my old sh1tbox 'puter...)

You've seen them at around 5 fps? ;)

no, at 40+ fps actually...

if you maybe notice the way 3D cards are benched these days, they do it @ 26XX by 1600 or something (can't give you a chart, internetional is not working) and at 150+ FPS!

LOL, you need to visit rAge!

and thats all folks - stay tuned for farlig optreden's part 2 thread, simply entitled "intel vs amd vs xbox vs wii vs ps3 vs ati vs nVidia vs Linux vs XP vs Vista vs Panther" thread.

Yes, it's better by a *glorious* 30 rows of pixels! :p

Dit they teach you math at school?

1920x1080=2 073 600 pixels = 225% the size of 720p , 117% the size of (1680x1050)

1680x1050= 1 764 000 pixels = 191% the size of 720p

1280x720= 921 600 pixels

Panther's old. Leopard's the latest OSX releast, if ya didn't know... ;)

Seriously though - why would I create a thread like that? :confused:

i'm not a fruit fanboi, so I don't really care...

was jus joking around...

1st sign of a true fanboi - denial that he is in fact a fanboi ;) Sorry Keeper, you are a fanboi and just don't want to accept it.

Wow, you misinformed (and grammatically-challenged) little twerp. I was discussing 1050"p" and 1080p with Keeper. Did they teach YOU math at school?

1080p = 1080 rows of pixels
1050"p" = 1050 rows of pixels

1080 rows of pixels - 1050 rows of pixels = 30 "glorious rows of pixels".

Makes sense, no? At normal screen sizes, a 17% increase in pixels will barely be noticeable in full-screen, high-speed movements, like games. I dare anyone to pinpoint the differences between 1920 x 1080 and 1680 x 1050 on a high-action game (COD4?) running on a 22" monitor, with 4x AA.
