It's almost biltong making weather by the sea.
I need to find some nice c grade.
 
my fan broke on my machine

where can i get a cheap fan and replace
if im not mistaken this is the second time i see on this thread you said your fan broke.is that on the mellerware machine? and what is the life span of those fans

Melleware one ..used it more than enough times

my apologies i just remember seeing someone say they had to replace the fan and that is the machine i want to buy so i got a bit worried.let me know what you done for replacement of the fan and if it works so i can know for future
 
I stand to be corrected, but I don't think you can straight replace the original fan with a pc fan - my brother in law tried with a spare fan that I gave him - said it burnt out within a second or 2 switching on

That is to be expected as PC fans all direct current (12V) iirc, whereas the fan in the biltong maker is an AC fan.

I bought a replacement 230V AC fan from RS-Online many years ago after the original packed up and it has been working perfectly ever since.

A normal PC should work just fine, As long as its powered by a DC power supply and the output to the fan is not more than the fan's electrical ratings.
 
Made some Springbok biltong on Sunday. I buy my biltong meat from Eland Butchery in Boksburg. R270 for 3KG's.

They stock a wide variety of game meat. Only thing I can't find is C-Grade beef.

I took it out of the drier this morning.

folks so i decided to build biltong maker. where can i get good USB PC fan?
