where can i get good quality silverside in Centurion or Woodmead area?

My next build will be a 150l box :)

Checkers usually has decently priced silverside. Also some of their stores stock venison. Picked up kudu the other day at R70 a kg super yummy!

Nice build.

R88/kg is reasonable. I paid R122/kg at Hokaai in Centurion. Will buy at Checkers next time
ouch, look for their beef roast its typically topside or silver side and works perfectly for biltong. If I'm making biltong myself I would never pay over R100 pkg for the initial meat needed.

Remember when cutting the meat for the biltong you cut with not against the grain.

Wierda Park Slaghuis / Butcher is really good. Nice personal service and they only sell A-class meat. I can vouch for there quality.

I would not buy meat from a supermarket, they take to many liberties with the meat for my liking. An old **** trick of them is to sell C-Grade meat at A-Grade prices. GO get a good local butcher and support a business that does not partake in deceitful enterprises.

Howsit!
where can I get good quality silverside, Chilli bites spice and a Lekker Biltong spice in Cape town? Im in Brackenfell/Kuilsriver, but dont mind driving.

Does anyone make their own spice from scratch?

Right now, I can get coriander seeds, which I roast.
I crack these with black pepper seeds and rock salt in a coffee grinder. Do add some cayenne pepper from time to time, but doesnt quite taste lekker.

Wouldnt mind some scratch recipes to try ......
