Does anyone have clever ways to buy a Kindle in Cape Town? Kindle Keyboard is the one I'm looking for. Looks like it's $99 in the US but seems to be R2k in ZA.

I bought mine from Amazon last Monday.
Delivered on Wednesday afternoon. Nothing easier.

It is has basically the same dimensions as the Kobo so I want to get it but want to be sure that the light will work with it.

Do you already have the Kindle or are you buying a new one? The Paperwhite and the Kobo Glo will hopefully be available soon.

In South Africa you are pretty much limited to either a Kindle or Kobo. Depending on your needs the entry level devices without their own illumination (like the Paperwhite or Glo) might be worth looking at.
The big thing is to check out the prices and availability of the ebooks you like to read on the various platforms.
