No, definitely, but why I think it's ridiculous is because I remember a similar siutation against us last year where Terry went down, you guys carried on playing, we stole the ball to counter-attack, and the ref stopped play because Chelsea started pointing to Terry like they didn't know he was down before that. I'm sure something like that would've happened here. I'm not saying that the goal shouldn't have been given, it's just a bit iffy.

Yeah well, it's chances you take that either pay off or don't. I don;t really care either way, but if it was a midfielder that did it and the opposition went on to score - then I'd be pissed because they were lounging about instead of winning the ball back. Otherwise... live and let live. I'm sure if it happened the other way around you wouldn't mind ;)

Oh yeah, how did Untied play? I know the result... but how did they actually play? An improvement on recent results or not?

Good point. Pointless debating about the integrity of footballers. (Or of people. Oh the philosophical debates we could have, smokes :D )

Meh. We didn't go there for the win, or maybe situations made that decision for us. Both fullbacks had to be replaced due to injury. We were already shorn of midfield creativity due to various injuries, Nani didn't look match for either. They closed us down well, and in the first half we had little to no possession. The thing is, no one had a bad game, but it seemed we were just weathering the storm.

Carrick had a demon of a game though, shielded the back four like a boss. I thought Berbatov did well, he had almost no service due to the solid wall of City players down the middle of the pitch. I tell you dude, both of us should be worried once City get a decent manager who doesn't like playing with 7 defenders.

If they had won last night they would have been 5th today... but you cannot deal with "IF's" - they must perform on the park.

Yep, very very true. This has crossed my mind on more than one occasion.

Fishy said it best... play to the whistle. It's not like fulham stopped dead in their tracks to help Drogba now, was it? Essien out means Ramires in... which is never good news :( However... if Lamps is back for the next game then we could see the start of a wonderful Russian/English/African partnership in midfield. ;)

Though lamps would replace Zhirkov...
Ramires is good for the small games imo. Against Man C and Liverpool he was terrible.

Yeah, but wouldn't you prefer Lamps on the right and Zhirkov on the left? I mean at least while Essien is out.

Agreed. Watching city reminds me of Rafa. Although with wingers lol

Y'know what... you really shouldn't complain. Rafa guided you lot to the ECL at least. Imagine what it must have been like for me back when Claudio "The Tinkerman" Ranieri was boss of the club... or even worse, the never ending sight of 0 - 0 in the Vialli days. Though to be fair, you guys did have that one bloke... can't remember his name though. Absolute rubbish. He was your manager just before Houllier I think.
