Tevez formally requests a transfer from city
http://www.people.co.uk/sport/footb...ds-in-shock-transfer-request-102039-22777892/
CARLOS TEVEZ has rocked Manchester City by handing in a transfer request.

The little striker is said to be suffering distress at being separated from his two daughters, who live with their mother in Argentina. He also has a fractious relationship with City boss Roberto Mancini and had a touchline bust-up with the Italian when substituted in the final minute of City’s 1-0 win over Bolton last week.

The thought of losing their most influential player has panicked City bosses, who will offer him mid-season breaks to spend time with his family in a desperate bid to keep him. They will even allow him to fly to his homeland by private jet.

Though there are suspicions among some Eastlands observers that the transfer request is an audacious bid by Tevez to net a massive new pay deal, friends of the South American say his unhappy domestic life genuinely is the sole motivation.

Though well respected by team-mates, his poor command of the English language makes it hard for him to build friendships and it’s significant he missed the recent Christmas party atteneded by almost every other City player.

The Tevez camp, headed by Mr Fixit Kia Joorabchian, have seen Wayne Rooney grab himself a £200,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford after telling Manchester United he wanted out.

The South American star, currently on £160,000 a week, has also witnessed the arrival of Yaya Toure at City on a higher salary.

But People Sport can reveal that salary wrangles have played no part in his decision to request a move. Indeed he has told friends he may even quit football if it’s the only way to be reunited with his family.

Threats of Tevez packing in are not new to City who have grown used to his regular hints that he wants to go home.

But the transfer request is the last thing they wanted on the day the club went level on points at the top of the Premier League table after winning 3-1 at West Ham.

City fans have taken Tevez to their hearts since his controversial £26million switch from Old Trafford.

If City were to sell Tevez, they would be looking for at least £40million, with Real Madrid and Barcelona sure to be in the hunt to secure his services.
