Oh FFS! It was an awesome goal, but come on. It's nothing Crouch hasn't done many a time. No need to wet your pants two days after he scored the bloody goal. Git.

Which makes it all the more difficult. CRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

To be honest, its more the context of the goal, than the goal it self.

Take away the following:

1) Winner against City
2) City being title challengers
3) Scored by Rooney
4) Who hasn't been scoring regularly
5) Who wanted to leave 4 months ago
6) Effectively dumping City out of the race

It would still have been a great goal, but the dbecks and the commentator would not have had to change their pants afterwards.

You don't say.

Yeah but Crouch's ones look absolute k@k, like he flops to the ground and stuff, looking like a fish outta water. Rooney's was elegant and in one swift, pure motion.

Haha, you guys need to get over it. It was a fantastic goal, for all those reasons.

Dude, Crouch doing an overhead kick is like a midget hitting a slamdunk. It's awesome because it actually happened.

Meh. I'd rather see Kobe Bryant pull off a dunk with finesse and elegance than a midget pull off a dunk adn then fall flat on his face.

:erm: Crouch falls on his back... just like Rooney. Only thing is, it's more difficult for Crouch to pull off that technique than for Rooney to do it. Anyway, it's not even the best overhead kick of the year. Go check goal.com roundup of overhead kicks and there is one by a Chilean I think that was more amazing and better execution. It's just coz he's bloody English.

EDIT: Kobe sucks. That is all.
