The official Mikrotik router thread

On the SXT LTE v2, I am having a problem with the device not reconnecting automatically after data has run out and I have topped up more data.
I need to do a manual power cycle before it reconnects to LTE (MTN)
Do I need to add a script to do this automatically?

Why not do something like this...

Ether1-Internet (PPPoe to VDSL router)
Ether2-PiHole (possibly 192.168.77.xxx range)
Ether3-192.168.88.1 (Mikrotik does DHCP)
Ether4-192.168.99.1 (Mikrotik does DHCP)

Set the Mikrotik as the DNS server, then tell the Mikrotik to use the PiHole as its DNS server.
MASQ all traffic from Ether3 and Ether4 to go out via Ether1 and you are on your way to the races.

Feel free to drop me a PM if you need assistance.

Was about to ask this as well. Doing this for year or two now.

You could take the block list and make huge firewall but that is gonna kill your cpu. Or static dns entries.

Pihole at least can start using dnssec as well natively.

I have the same problem on the SXT LTE v1. Upgraded the firmware as per MikroTik's request now it drops more often. I'm currently using a script to test the connection every 5 minutes and reset the lte interface of the MikroTik if the connection fails.

I am hoping that the RBD52G-5HacD2HnD-TC comes into stock soon argh, running a RB951Ui-2HnD as a trial and it works 100%.. just doesnt have 5GHz WiFi

Yea if the RB951Ui-2HnD had a 5Ghz chip, it would've been the perfect littel router for home and sme. An awesome little unit.

Has anybody noticed any issues with Mikrotik cloud DDNS?

I've noticed since friday that 4 of my router's addresses are resolving, and then a few minutes later they don't resolve, and then they resolve again. It's driving me nuts.

I have never had luck with the cloud option. Always takes forever to resolve when i turn it on for the first time.

That's an issue because there was a fire in their warehouse ... even they don't have stock and only estimate March 2019. Though, this can change

From what I've read there isn't currently stock of those anywhere, most places expect stock round about 7 December side.

This I may actually guess mid to late January, unless a distributor already has on the way - but MikroTik is out of stock
