Tony Hawk's Motion Announced
This isn't the same Tony Hawk game again.
by Jack DeVries

August 29, 2008 - Activision has apparently heard the complaints of the Tony Hawk series becoming stale and repetitive, and has decided to switch things up in a huge way. Activision announced today that the next Tony Hawk game for the Nintendo DS will use an accelerometer for its game play.

Tony Hawk's Motion uses the Motion Pack accelerometer by Kionix for its control scheme. According to Activision "players can twist, tilt and turn through numerous skateboarding sessions." This Motion Pack plugs into the GBA slot of the DS.

In addition to skateboarding, Tony Hawk's Motion will feature snowboarding, along with 20 mini games, both familiar and completely new. Venues for the game include Tokyo, Dubai, Vermont and the Alps. First-time THPS developer Creat Studio (known for Smash Cars and the Aqua Teen game) is handling this motion-controlled Tony Hawk game.

As a bonus to go along with the new Motion Pack, Tony Hawk's Motion also packs in a second application in addition to the game -- at any time, players can boot up from the Tony Hawk's Motion game card the bonus program Hue Pixel Painter, a motion controlled painting-based puzzle game.

The double game pack is set to release November 2008. We'll have more news as we get it, but for now check below for the first screens.

Nice

I am finding it hard to locate a decent carrying case for the DS. Any stores (online and actual stores) you guys can recommend?

Basically looking for something simple, but which looks good too.

Maybe something like this (but not the same price), but smaller

Or something like the case in this pack:

I've seen toys r us is starting to get some cool DS accessories ja...
LOL I'm playing Digimon World DS.

I just got my DS, so at the moment i am basically playing Civilisation revolution and Mario kart. I am impressed with the wifi multiplayer gaming with mario kart, its fun.

Civilisation revolution is pretty cool. Anybody know if similar games that are good?

how is that CIV?

Edit: mmm I see IGN gives it a 8.2/10... nice

I enjoy it. Last played Civ back in the day. Its pretty much the same as it was on the pc. I just need to get used to the whole idea of "turns" and not being able to move all my units at once.

Anything out there for the DS like Command and Conquer?

cool, ive had CIV for a while but crossworDS sunk its clutches into me deep lol! need to break free for while.

yeah saw that case already, dont really dig it.

Will have to make a trip to toys r us.

LOL oh i see...
OH and about my wasted Top LCD, I think its just the ribbon cable man.... but ai Core is gevrek... at this rate im going to try getting a tri wing screwdriver and open that thing up.

On a different note, Hows the MODS coming guys?

There is a game that is almost exactly like the first command&conquer, it is called "command&destroy" It is not very good though, IGN gave it a 4/10, but if you are looking for some old school C&C action it could keep you entertained for a few hours. Don't buy it though. If yo find a discarded copy laying on the sidewalk you can try it, or you can do that other thing that we are not allowed to discuss.
