The Official Nintendo DS Thread

Eish guys, so im thinking of trading my xfx 8800gt for a DS, these days i sleep over at my gf's place alot more, so chucking my gigabyte case with me isnt going to cut it, :) the only games i play on my pc are old emulators and Magic the gathering online... I really want to get into pokemon and all that, in terms of graphics i already own a xbox 360, do you guys think trading my 8800 for a DS is justifiable?
 
Dude if you want to play pokemon they just get a Game boy advance or a PSP and a emmulator. I do both

I suggest if you want one, phone them first thing in the morning.

I didnt receive a box with Metroid though, just thought id mention that.

Pretoria Pickup only, if anyone's interested :) This is kinda urgent freaking student loan didn't go through, so i could really use the bucks, thank you ABSA.

Multimedia Card's for NDS

I am not sure if this question have been ask and answerd but her it go's
What is the best multimedia card for slot1 and how do they compare?
I have the super ds one card but want to buy one more for my son.

A DS playing father
son is 9 and i am 39 :eek:

The R4 is quite a popular one and from what I hear it's pretty easy to use. The only issue is (if I'm not mistaken) that the R4 can only take microSD cards up to 2GB, whereas the TopToy DSTT can take up to 4000GB. If it's for your son it's probably best to get the R4, as the DSTT has issues with certain games, and it's slightly more complicated to use.

But that's just my opinion:) there are other cards too such as the M3 and CycloDS.

lol, never to old to game man, never too old!! :D
I love my EDGE check out www.edge4ds.com it has regular updates and if im not mistaken, can take up to a 32gb microSD card which should be more than sufficent. best thing about this one is that its the cheapest from the lot.
 
I picked up a DSTT *top toy* from Defcon 5, NO complaints here. steady sailing :)

DS Real vs iTouch DS vs DS Simply

Hey guys,

I've got a M3 DS Simply atm with a 2GB card. I'm now considering get either an iTouch or a M3 Real to use with a 4/8GB card. The Simply runs great, download play works and I don’t have any problems with it, except the 2GB limit. It’s a schlep to change the micro card every time I want to watch a movie or play a game.

Does anybody have a Real or iTouch and can tell me if there are any problems or issues with games or media files? Don’t want to get something that works worse than my Simply.

I have a M3 Real working with a 2GB card. Tested with Games, movies and MP3 and it is working fine. Only problem so far is in some cases a bit of stutter when there are lyric files with the MP3s, but if you don't have lyric files or delete it, then it works fine again.

Want to get a larger card (4 or 8 GB), then I will let you know. Anybody knows where is the best deal on 4 or 8 GB microSD cards?

:D Or can someone send me one for free so I can test it for the group? :D
