Hi everyone,

@ Dr@gonic, I have replacement batteries for the DS lite that come with a screwdriver, so if the screw on the battery cover is the same as the hinge then I can supply you that immediately, else I can get a triwing for you with my next shipment, but you gonna have to wait a couple of weeks.
 
@ Dr@gonic haha I just got my DS, and its hard enough trying to wrestle it out of my GF's hands cause she is too busy playing New Super Mario brothers..... Grrrrr......

The only modding i would do is maybe get one of those "skins" that i saw on your post, wil hide the finger smudges on the outside nicely :)

Anyone know where u can buy them, or must one just by stickers and create your own?

Nah the cover on the battery is a normal star screw.
A couple of weeks:eek: damn thats long, but ok I'll let you know tomorrow or so.

dudes, i saw a DSlite in cash crusaders for R700!!! shweeet. thinking of gettin it for me wifey. anything i need to look out for before i shell out the cash?? worry about those cracked hinges and shyte

Friend, use Pratley if you ever encounter the dreaded hinge cracks, did it with mine, its even the same colour of the DS! :) now i can play with full confidence!
 
Well the cracked hinges are now a thing of the past but i am worried about something else.
Those buttons on my ds are getting lekker hammered from my non-stop game playing.
I am wondering if there is a place in South africa or perhaps Cape town where i can get replacement rubbers for the buttons.
I can always order online from China but isn't there anywhere else?
I figure if i keep at my Ds the way i am now i will need new rubbers by the end of next month. LOL!

@dr@gonic.... haha i remember those old arcade fighters where the instructions had been worn out so you just pressed all the buttons at once haha

Hey so I was wondering, KOF would be awesome on the DS! I mean they bringing lots of fighters on the DS now, when will KOF appear?
 
The game is Megaman Zero 4.I have to hammer those poor buttons as the enemies require so many damn frantic manuel shots!
Add to the fact that i have been playing hard at my Ds for nearly a week[6 hours per day]
My poor poor buttons.

Why were Ds lite sales prior to Dsi so low compared with psp?
How did the modern Psp aka Gamegear[Battery wise] gain so fast?
I thought the Ds outsold even the wii?

I have recently bought a DS Lite from Ebay, it came with GBA games and hopefully today I will be getting my DS games, I love my little console, so much more fun than my PSP, my only problem is the following - I want to be able to save my games, could someone please tell me in a non-technical way what I should buy.

Thank you for not laughing at this post - any help/advice will be appreciated.
 
The ds carts themselves have memory on them.So there is no need for a memory card.
So Nintendo saves you a little money.
Congrats on your purchase of the ds!
That little console is damn addictive,i cannot escape its duel screens.

lol, dnt worry dude. we were all there once. demon is right about the save system. i suggest u invest in a flash cart. it'll help in those tricky "which-to-buy" situations. just try out the rom and if you like, presto!:D
 
I just ordered a lovely brushed aluminium protective case for my ds lite,from Boxwave.com.
It looks delicious and its only 99 US cents plus the shipping! it worked out to R100.
Must say its one those extreme cases where getting something from the US at a 10th of the price still beats a trip to Toys r us or Reggies.
Quite keen on seeing this anodised aluminium case.
Yum!
Quite scared of those cracked hinges and am gonna do my bit to reduce the risk!
