Awesome. How nice are those big screens?

Look at these titles:
GTA Chinatown Wars -- must have, trust me
Chrono Trigger -- looks child-like, but it's a great jrpg with some unique elements
Mario Kart DS
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Hotel Dusk: Room 215 -- if you're into the detective/mystery sort of thing

There are a few other classics, but those are the ones i can vouch for. The advantage you have is that you have the entire DS library to buy from, don't ignore the classics! Take2 normally has some bargains on older games.
 
Thanks for the info guys. I got a few games and must say this gaming is quite awesome. Been playing the new Super Mario and Elite Beat Agents. Really having fun! Being a real nostalgic fellow I'll probably opt for some of the older games. It sucks that we can't download stuff from the DSiWare store or am I missing something?

As I've never own another a DS I can't really compare the screens to anything else, but I love their size. The DSi XL is a bit heavy though so you can't lay flat on your back and play too long. I'll probably investigate something like an R4i in future. 5000 games @ R300 is quite a lot of moola. Okay ... I'm off to save Peach!
 
ZOMG The 3DS is looking so SCHWEEEET!!! Graphics looking good as well. Cant wait for this one... damn just when I'm going to repair my current 2 DS's this baby is coming out soon, oh well, wont have the money to buy it when it comes out either so it's fine.

The Fire Emblem Series: Shadow Dragon.
Rhythm Heaven if you're into rhythm/beat games.
Pokemon? If you're into that.
The World Ends With you.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days.
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword.
Super Mario 64 if you missed out.
Wario Ware
Yea.. that's about it. There are lots of others too.

Have you finished TWEWY yet? I suck at the dual combat... But haven't really played it that much. Too busy playing Chrono Trigger these days... Epic game. :D
 
i have not played TWEWY yet but im enjoying Soma bringer and phantasy star 0 a lot.
I am playing on a ds emulator..saving my money for the 3ds! CANT WAIT!
 
I saw a DS lite (refurbished) for R999...should i get one or is it worth to wait for the 3D?
 
So my DSTT finally packed up on me after about 3 years :< problem is I have no idea what's good nowdays and where to buy from, any ideas?

Pokemon Black and White is available, bought 2 copies yesterday.

Where did you read that? I've used the Nintendo WFC hundreds of times.
 
ok, I just need somewhere to vent my excitement about the coming of the 3DS. pre-ordered from exclus1ves yesterday for R2080 :)
someone care to assist in freezing me for a week al la South Park? but just for a week plz...
 
Reggies is currently selling pokemon black/white and nintendo WFC has worked for years in south africa. I got Events in 2007 for Diamond & Pearl.

The games also cost R400. I got mine earlier this month from USA for R250 each.

At Pick 'n Pay Hypermarket i saw DS Lites for R500 with and without games included near Atterbury Centre, Faerie Glen. Not sure if other Pick 'n Pays have same deals.
 
I was thinking of 3ds but seeing how cheap it is in USA compared to here made me think twice

oversees its equal to R1725 so its R1000 more to get it here

You should be comparing the price to the EU console, then its not bad at all.
 
Well I get stuff from family in USA thats why I compare to USA, if I had someone in europe I would compare to their prices :P

I was expecting mention and praise for the PSP2/NGP killer.:D

I said that because i heard a rumour that Sony might make a cellphone that integrates psp2 technology into a cellphone(not xperia play)and wants to compete with the Iphone as well.

All of this while Nintendo plods along doing what they do best and capture the entire hand held market again!
