Standard Bank then phones me to confirm

Standard Bank then phones me to confirm
Sure, but I had an incident where I wasn't available, they phoned, and then without my permission denied the transaction. I then looked an idiot trying to ripoff the international seller.

But is there a better way?

I get the merit of this, but it's too 'on their whim they do what they want' and honestly they have no business to monitor my transactions.

So I guess decentralized transactions...

Sigh.

I would imagine that banks everywhere are implementing similar fraud detection systems. It's happened with me a few times with Banggood and Gearbest, then the transaction is declined and the goods are still in my Cart. After confirmation with the bank, I just re-place the order.

I'm sure that big international sellers are up to date with banking processes of this nature.

How well does the Shield upscale DSTV Sport channels?

Read an article last night that claims the Shield does not upscale 1080p @ 60 frames, basically why I am asking. This is to 4K guys.

So what is your experience please Folks.

Further to my question above, if the Shield does not upscale 1080p @ 60 frames to 4K for DSTV Sport, will dropping the streaming rate to medium ( 720p ), allow upscalling to 4K?

I found this article which states:

"The impressive, AI-powered 4K upscaling feature of the 2019 Shield TV and Shield TV Pro will now work with 360p and 1440p content in addition to the 720p and 1080p resolutions that it supported before. (The Pro model can now upscale 60fps content, which should prove handy for sports.)"

Nvidia makes Shield TV’s impressive 4K upscaling even more useful with new update

If anyone is willing, I would highly appreciate it if someone could share an example of football on DStv now using the AI upscaling demo to gauge just how much of a difference it makes.

I ordered the 2019 remote for my 2017 Shield from Amazon yesterday, should be here Monday, I hope to not have to throw it on the floor :giggle:
What did you pay? I hate this 2017 remote lol. Why they chose bloody coin batteries ill never know

Is the remote worth while to get? .
I don't game at all but my 5 years old son might fancy it?

I might sell mine

Shew, that's an expensive remote. Won't it be better to rather get a Harmony remote?
I think the functionality on the Shield remote, is what makes people get that over a Harmony. Not sure if the Harmony has a button for google assistant, or being able to locate the remote if you misplace it etc

The Harmony cannot locate the remote but you are able to program the buttons to do virtually anything, including a smart assistant. The one that I have does not have a mic so no voice capabilities.

I don't really have an exact price, my total order was around R4k worth, 11 items in total so I never really broke it down. Either way, the remote is well worth it.

edit: Just broke it down very simply by doing the following.
(Total shipping + total import fees) / 11 items = ship cost per item
Remote cost less 15% SA promo code =$remote price
(ship cost per item + $remote price) x exchange rate charged = R541,89 for the remote

Very rough but good enough for me.

How much do you need to spend for the discount? And what is the discount code? Valid still?
