The Official NVidia Shield Thread

I installed RetroArch last week. I have installed a PS1 Emu and I am playing Crash Team Racing. The sound distorts every now and then. Either way, this was a test for what I actually want to accomplish next.

Since the Nintendo Switch uses the exact same CPU, I want to install a Nintendo Switch Emu. Been struggling to get Mame and Neo-Geo games working.

Every now and then I get a bit of an issue on the Shield where some of the apps keep getting removed from the 'favorites' list. It's never the same set of apps that this happens to. Just totally random.
I'll then put those apps back, and they might stay there for a few weeks/month/whatever, but then, for whatever reason, they'll disappear again.

Is there a possible fix for this?

I never experienced this.when last did you do a factory setting restore, update then redo your favourites list?

I wonder if they will release Red Dead Redemption 2 on that NVidia cloud thingy.

The workaround I found is that all the chosen apps stay on the home screen if I don't restart the unit.
Turning it fully off and then on, doesn't mess around with the apps.

Anyways,
I have an older Shield (2015) Pro 500GB model that seems to be faulty. I want to at least try and salvage the hard drive from it. Maybe I'm just being dumb but I can't figure a way to disassemble it. There are no screws on this version that I can remove. Well not as far as I can see. I'd like to avoid scratching up or damaging the case if I could.

Edit: Nevermind lol. Just cheap little plastic clips holding it together.

Sell it and buy the latest. Let it be someone else's problem.

I need a browser with an IE plugin for CCTV live feeds for my shield. Will do some research on the topic in the meantime.

I see the shield with remote and controller on sale at Amazon.com for $160

Is this a decent price

Currently have a mibox

Does anyone know if the version sold by Geewiz is the US version and they just provide an additional plug adapter, or are they importing the EU version?

UPDATE: Apparently they just get the US version with a plug adapter.

My Shield is rebooting at random times. Anyone know anything about this?

Edit: random power dips in my area.

My DSTV Now and Showmax are not working anymore, comes up with an errorMVIMG_20181126_210155.jpg
Has anyone else with a Shield been having this problem in the last week? I am trying to work out if it is just my box.

Thanks
