Catch up to them, greet them, compliment them on their speed and mention you're falling back again for your zone two.Question for the more versed runners. Starting out on my long run this morning I encountered two women running (separately) in the same direction I was headed. The route was going out of town, so not that much foot traffic normally. I was already on the opposite side of the road from them. In order to not look like a weirdo trailing them for the entire run and making them feel unsafe I completely blew any chance of a zone 2 run, accelerated past and kept the pace up until I lost them around a bend. They must have turned around since I didn't encounter them again on my way back.
Are there any established unwritten rules/best practices for situations like that?
Damn, that looks lekker!
Sounds like a perfectly good way to get your teeth knocked out.The best thing to do in this situation is to run behind them and whistle and make it like you are also calling a cat xts xts xts sounds to make your presence known .
