The official running thread™

Which is awesome. I wish I had discovered a love for running while I was a kid. Would've made everything better and I'd be in much better shape now.
Interesting when life takes a turn - this could not necessarily be the case. Could be you peak early and let it all slip without realising what you had

I was always struggled with my weight you can follow a bit of my journey on the weight loss challenge but getting ready for the arrival of the little guy and ever since its gone into overdrive I am down +- 25kg from my peak 113kg (3-4 year journey) and healthier than I have ever been. My cholesterol being through the roof and getting that back down to great levels has been worth the blood and sweat and hard work.
Some of the things that stick with me as I approach 40 in 2 years time

Yup. Got into running only after I had hit 106kg and HAD to do something or start to face serious health issues. 2 years later I'm holding stable at around 78/79kg and the fittest I've ever been.

Very humid long run today. Couldn't stay in zone 2 so decided to work on holding faster paces on tired legs. Managed to do 4:39, 4:38, 5:17 and 4:57 on km 7 to 10: Plus a new mile PB of 7:15!
