AM:Quick strength training
PM: 15km easy Followed by stretching and 15minutes off foam rolling.

No running tomorrow. Might do a 15 minute strength training session.Screenshot_20240802_200405_Strava.jpgScreenshot_20240802_200024_Strava.jpgScreenshot_20240802_195928_Strava.jpg

After dealing and treating asthma, which has impeded my running for a month, I'm back in prep for SCTM and even bought the Adidas Boston 12 SCTM edition to motivate me a bit more. Doing 5km daily until I can challenge myself with longer runs.

Have you done Dischem 21 in Bedfordview?
It would be much worse in reverse! (Well, Fisher's Hill, at least...)

I couldn't be bothered to sign up for Old Eds - the parking is such a hassle, and it's quite expensive compared to other races. Just as well; I entertained friends on Saturday, and with all the walking around and doing thing, I really struggled with my 5K run on Sunday.

AG Dewitt is a popular comrades training route. Reverse looks like fun - I must try it.
Wanderers is up on Sunday - much better route.
Date for Jeppe marathon announced. Certainly one of the fastest races in Jhb.

How is Boroughs of Bedfordview 15K? I'm thinking of doing that on 22 Sept and then RunYourCity on Tuesday 24 Sept. Is parking reasonable?

It's become a bit of a circus...

Some interesting reading if you haven’t read the below yet

For those thinking about it, do it!

Monties was a really amazing experience, well organised, and obviously one of the most beautiful parts of SA. Tough race, but worth the effort.

It's only 4hrs from Gauteng, and the entry includes meals and camp site - good value for money.

Always wanted to do that one. Coming from the coast, I'll need a week there to first acclimatize to the altitude. 8h47 is good going in that terrain.

From my perspective, it's not as big of a factor as anticipated, unless you are a fore-runner and going for gold - nice and steady and the body does well in adjusting to the altitude.

Okay, as a relatively new runner (again) and clicking in at 120kg. Zone 2 running horrible, I am slow at the best of times but zone 2 slow is next level.
