legs really feel it, really wondering if i need to look for an alternative to running with the impact it is having on my legs seeing as though i am barely pushing it.

@ChrisJ did you do UTCT? How was it? Two of my friends did the 65km and I seconded them for the day. Was an awesome day out. Hopefully will make the start line next year.

I was forerunning this year. Did the first 37k of the 100 starting at midnight checking for any missing markers. An epic night out to deal with the fomo of not running.

Then supported mates smashing the 100k later in the day. Still ended up doing 70k or so with the forerunning and supporting

Please explain what is a running licence and how it differs from Team Vitality membership with or without. What race events require a running licence?

If you want to run anything from 10K up, you need to purchase a running licence from Athletics South Africa. You have two options. You can buy a temporary licence which is valid for that race only, which costs anything between R25 to R40.

Or you can buy a permanent licence which is valid for the whole year. For next year, the cost is R120.00. However, if you want to buy a permanent licence you have to be a member of a running club, like Team Vitality, which will cost R399 next year.

Big races like Two Oceans and Comrades require you to be a member of a running club. You can't enter these races with a temp license.

I just want to run more. Been slacking a bit as 2019 ended

Oh and a 21k here and there would be great

1. Did 500 km in 2019, want to bump that up to at least 800 km.

2. Want to do at least 4 21km's, but hopefully 6.

3. Best time of 2 hours 18 minutes, want to go under 2 hours. Best time of 53:15 in the 10 km, but I'm falling apart between 10 km and 21 km.

4. Want to go under 50 minutes for 10 km.

I would like to get back into it but not a frequent basis my knees just arent made for it.

I would probably like to see a 10km road race or something.

All roads lead to Comrades for me. Anything else until then (even Two Oceans) is just classified as a training run. Would like to come up and do the Soweto Marathon in November followed by the 65km UTCT in December, but will see.

Happy 2020 you bat$hit crazy bunch!! hope you have an epic year of running.

I have two 21s in January, Dis-chem and Ottosdal :) I broke my hand late last year, so I cant swim or cycle, so running it is, although its reeeeeeealy crap running with a cast.

Im hoping to do my first 32 this year. I want to do the 947 MTB, 947 and Tough one all in a row
