Yeah people can be very annoying, I had kids running into me and walkers blocking everywhere, we see it at park run also all the time. The worst for me is the beginning in that it's like everyone wants to be in front but they have no intention of jogging let alone running, even when I slack off or need to tie a lace or something I move way off to the side and do my thing then find an open slot to join back in.

Yes, very annoying, walkers at parkrun that INSIST to start right in front. And then they are in everyone's way when the run starts. Even the slower runners shouldn't start in the front row

yep... and then on the points where you double back they wont move off the path for runners, its enough to drive me mental

This pisses me off to no end. People will start of running in front of the pack and then 200m down they're huffing and puffing.

It's worse when there's a natural bottle-neck at the Park Run.

If you want a quick parkrun, choose one of the less busy ones, like Bosmont. Lots of people are just a fact at the big ones.

Or one with a wide open start like Ruimsig. People line up all next to each other, then it is a couple of hundred meter sprint across a wide open field before it narrows to a dirt road.

Has anyone followed some kind of weight training for runners program?

Did it work, better results, faster times and less injuries?

Would you mind sharing your training program and if you were pushing heavy/light/body weight etc

Speaking of which... anyone tried spinning to assist with running?

I do hiit training 3/4 days a week. Since I started in Jan, my times for 21k's got about 10min better. It also helps me with OCRs. Exercises are different every day which keeps it interesting. Check them out online: ritual gym.

So not spinning specifically but I'm a cyclist way more than I am a runner (I dabble in triathlons and only run as training for those) and I've found that cycling doesn't help with running nearly as much as running helps with cycling. I suppose if your training load is already pretty high and you want to do a low impact cardio workout spinning would be a good option but as proper cross-training I'd say it has limited benefit.
