Who else is doing the Vitality Run Series in Pretoria?
This will be the last minute prep for me for Soweto 42.2. I am a bit nervous to be honest.

Anyone else do the Gun Run this morning? Was a decent day out.

First time I've run over 12km in 3 years. Body is hurting but no regrets. It was s great run and the weather was almost perfect.

It was my first 21 ever and Im pretty happy with the results. Official time is 2:03 but I started in the E batch so it took me a while to get to the start.

Perfect running weather.

Great time for a first half! I'm assuming you only started your watch as you crossed the start line? That start is a joke though. So congested. I was in batch B and even that was a squeeze going through the waterfront.

Thanks, I think the fact that I train on JHB helped a lot today.

I started my watch when I started jogging, which was as I was going through the C start block.

I have to admit I felt boxed in all the way until we were done climbing (kloof rd I think).

One question, how do I avoid nipples that feels like someone took a cheesegrater to them on future long runs.

My body is doing everything in its power to not run Kaapsehoop.

Torn a muscle that connects the groin to the thigh and haven't run since last Sunday. Very weird feeling because it makes your one leg so tired and any speed work is impossible.

Today's run will determine if I run my marathon or not. Even if I do run it I doubt I will get any time I was expecting.

Very miff at the moment.

Yeah I should take "4-6 weeks" off but the race is on November 2nd so don't have that time.

The run went ok yesterday, I'm determined (put too much time into this to back out now) and I know its not going to be pretty but I will make it.
