My daughter and I did the 10K in 1:09, enjoyed it a lot.

How old is she?
We're thinking of taking the kids with for tonight, my 9yo daughter would be able to 10 km with relative ease, my 8 yo son won't.

Did the 10km on the Durban promenade in 1:04 with a few friends, nice to see lots of people out wearing their numbers.

I Did a parkrun on Saturday. The out of town parkruns are back

Ran a sub 20min for a new course record in my age category.

I wasn't really planning to go out hard and took the first 2km easy for the legs to warm up before pushing a bit. I kept my HR below 150 BPM

I forgot to stop my watch.

Fck me, that's bloody well done. Awesome pace.

Been out for a few months with patella tendonitis. Horrible injury worse than Achilles.

Started slowly again with some 5k's. Luckily fitness hasn't suffered too much.

Adding in some eccentric leg strength, squats, lunges and more dynamic stretching.

Got a new pair of Asics stability as well so will see how it goes.

That is a blistering pace, well done!
You should come try some of our parkruns at the coast, those have some mother trucker sized hills!

Went for a run yesterday after a long hiatus with injuries. Was okay, at one stage everything started to go fuzzy and wobbling, with pain starting again in knee and hip joint.
Will see how things are tomorrow afternoon to go for a run again.

I'm so pleased to have stumbled across this thread. I started running in August 2019 after my partner challenged me to walk the 10km at Kaapschehoop while she did the Half. After doing some short runs my ego took over and I bumped my entry to the half marathon. This left me with exactly 10 weeks to go from 105kg and zero km, to a respectable half marathon. SWAMBO is an accomplished runner and has completed comrades and a number of marathons over the years. I ran 4 times a week, Tuesday(quick as I could 5km) and Thursday(40 mins of "hill" repeats) on the treadmill, and Saturday(5-8km quick) and Sunday(anything over 10km, slow) trying my best not to keel over and die while running behind SWAMBO.

Race day arrived and I was kakking myself when we arrived at the stadium at 02h00 to catch the bus to Kaapschehoop. Bang went the starters gun and off we went. Honestly the best personal struggle I have ever partaken in. I was completely blown away by the diversity of people and body shapes mad enough to run 21km.

Nice one. That's quite a hilly 5.6KM so it might be why you're feeling it a bit. You could also try slowing it down a bit, last thing you want is another injury.
