The official running thread™

Yesterday was a low target for me: I tried to keep my heart rate at the lowest point where I'd get 200 points on Vitality in 30 min, which for me is 120bpm. I managed to hit an average of 121, but it wasn't that easy running slowly - my feet were getting sore.

25:37 for me today at the Greenpoint PR, 9 seconds slower than last week. Different PR to last week but both courses were flat. Didn't get to train this week due to the inclement weather (can't train on Monday or Friday after work either because of other activities I do) so happy-ish with my time.

Hoping to go to Wellington next week for my 20th different Park Run...woot woot. Can finally get the cap.

can you even begin to fathom 3:48 a km, let alone maintaining that for 87k....

That was tough as f**k but glad I did it. I will do the down run next year and then call it a day. Squeaked in with an 11:44, so am very happy.
Well done!!! Its absolutely a feat of super mental an physical strength! Well done!

Had the best day out. Not a Bill Rowan as planned but I gave it my all. When I saw I wasn't going to make a sub 9 at 70km I slowed down and just enjoyed the last 18km and soaked up the atmosphere.

Amazing job. Very well done!!

Taking a break this week. Tendons on my right foot giving me grief.

So what I thought was an inflamed tendon turned out to be gout

It's taken a few days but my foot is almost hundreds. Just a twinge every now and again. Safe to start running again or should I wait some more?

Hmm, not sure. Never had gout. Is it something that goes away on its own? I think you can never have too much rest so even though it's 'just' twinging, it might be an idea to play it safe. I'm sure an extra day or two off won't kill you.
