We stood in Westville. Seeing some of the runners come passed and looking like they were out for a morning jog around the block was truly o_O

But top job to everyone who ran! Cheering you on was a pleasure :cool:

I had issues with niggles and injuries, so perhaps slower training to avoid this and more hills. Niggles also meant I wasn’t able to do more leg work in the gym.

More rest in the build up. A common feeling is that you're underdone. No amount of training feels like enough but it's nonsense. Yes, you need to put in the effort and you need time on the legs but you need to rest in equal proportions.

I don't think so. I've done my back to back now and that was the main goal. The commitments (both training and financial) for Comrades are crazy and I'm not sure I want to go through that again.

If you're a runner and want to test yourself to the ultimate limit, they don't come more testing than Comrades and I do highly recommend it. But just know you're in for something like nothing you've done.

A school friend of mine has run about 14 Comrades, 6 with Silver medals, he is one of those. I saw him coming down Cowies Hill fresh as a daisy a few years back, stopped to chat, then he saw another friend about 50m back up the hill and run back to say hello....bloody nutter :oops:
