I think I finally have my cool down routine sorted went for the run this morning with minimal leg fatigue after yesterday's 10km.did a 8km base pram run. Pretty much zone 3. As I said very difficult to get lower with a pram.

Have a good week all! Till next weekend!

This has been a terrible running week. Only managed to do one 6K base run on Monday.

Had a doctor checkup since I had to renew my medication and got thoroughly checked out. Turns out I seem to have a perforation in my eardrum which can be a huge contributing factor to the constant ear issues I'm having. I also did a resting ECG which was good, but showed I had partial electrical block in my heart. Apparently it's not something to be worried about unless I start showing issues and is known as athletes heart. Waiting on blood test results to see if there are any other issues with my heart since there's family history. Added some preventative medicines just to be safe.

The Dr didn't seem too concerned and cleared me for running as usual. Wanted to finally go for a run today but of course it started to rain just as I was about to go, so I have to skip today too.

The whole thing has completely stressed me out on top of all the work stress. My Garmin says my body battery is at 3!

Well done man!!! How was it?
Thanks man. It was about what I'd expected. I did a lot of research about the course before and had been training for about 5 months so felt well prepared. I also did a chappies run in December so had that covered. Constantia neck was tough (didn't recon it beforehand) and walked a lot of it due to aforementioned knees. I think I'll focus a bit more on strength training than running next time (yes I'm already thinking about next time o_O )

The vibe was amazing; from the start people were lining the streets even in the dark. Throughout the day it just builds and strangers shouting your name (it's printed on your race bib) and encouraging you really helps spur you on. Support teams and randoms along the route helping runners with potatoes or salt or deep heat (or even offering the odd beer :D ) was amazing to experience. I'm used to the vitality run series gees but this was next level... I'm hooked!
