The Official Xiaomi Thread

Lol.nah.ive compared my redmi note7 side by side with a Samsung note 10 and a Huawei p30lite. Both of their pics were significantly clearer and showed much more detail when zooming.
The redmi note 7 is not a flagship and you shouldn't try to get the same quality photos as a Samsung flagship. If you want to compare you'd have to get a Mi note 10.

Def wouldn't expect it to be. but was hoping it would at least match the Huawei.

I expected the updates would be quick on the k20 pro / mi9t Pro - but it's still sitting on November security.

China is in a Corona mess, I suspect all the staff stuck at home might be something to do with the delays.

True but it was delayed before then. Are they generally good with updates?

Anyone having issues with usb c charging cables on the redmi 8?

Wont work with a Samsung or LG one when off and when the phone is on, I have it to fiddle quite abit to make it charge. The xiaomi one works whether the phone is off or on.

Almost a week now as the proud owner of a Redmi Note 8 Pro.

I had second thoughts about upgrading from a P10 Lite. Had no real reason to switch as the Huawei was doing just fine. Got the Xiaomi mainly for its large screen, and its low price.

I can say with confidence today that I am very happy I made the switch and will not hesitate to buy Xiaomi again.

I'm struggling to understand why one would not consider this phone over an iPhone or Samsung. As far as I can tell the pure bang for buck is an absolute no-brainer. But different strokes.

Battery is good, screen is excellent, performance is very good, and overall it does everything I need. Camera is decent too, although I'm not a camera/pictures sort of user. And once you've spent a few minutes uninstalling some of the factory apps, and turning off all the unwanted services/tracking/notifications, it's as no-nonsense a phone as any.

Can definitely recommend

A few months now with my Note 8 Pro. Can't be happier. Phone does everything I ask of it. Hard to imagine I will ever give any other brand a look ever again.

Next phone will be a Xiaomi for sure - though I'm spoilt with my 6.53" screen, and will probably only upgrade if I can get a similar sized screen.

Bought one of these if anyone wants to take it off my hands, black - for Note 8 - R275:

Going to advertise it shortly.

Wish I had known about this yesterday!

What do you all think about buying a 5g phone over the 4g version. I see the k30 version with 5g is probably an extra R1000.

Is our data ever going to be cheap enough to be using that sort of download speed?

Not worth it for the next 2-3 years at minimum.

I'll take it for R275. Are you close to Pretoria, or will you need to ship it?
