I've had my note 8 now since Friday and it is a nice phone for what I use it, couple of hiccups here and there but overall Im happy.

There is one thing though, the wifi signal is very bad on the phone. I am sitting in line of sight, about 8m away from the router and the signal is low.

On my previous phone (Mi 6) I could walk outside in the street and it would still be connected. Is there a way to fix this or see why its like this?

If the WiFi reception is still bad after changing channels on the router, then I suggest that you get the phone replaced.

We have 2 Note 8 phones at home and they both have great WiFi reception.

The Second Space feature on Xiaomi smartphones is also known as Dual device mode and if you are confusing it with the Dual Apps option then it should be noted that while the dual apps options allows you to duplicate WhatsApp, Messenger, and other such apps, the second space allows you to create a separate space on your smartphone to keep anything like personal photos, files, apps, documents etc.

Nah. Will not have work stuff on my phone. Work stuff stays on work phone, work phone get switched off over weekends and after-hours, finish en klaar.

For guys with side-chicks, it may be worth looking at.

As an aside, using second space / dual apps breaks Android Auto in car connectivity.

Yup. Tested with an MTN SIM and an FNB Connect SIM in mine

My old Max 3 has both Sims doing 4g. They can even both be on at the same time, thereby drastically reducing download times.

Need to, her Huawei's doing funny things - the primary SIM does not always pick up 3G, so something funky with the hardware.

Go to settings > Battery & Performance >Battery usage stats > slide up to see Apps ranking.
Not telling much but it's a start.

I've had a 9c for a while now. 2GB version. Lekker phone without any issues. Calls are crystal clear when I use MTN for calls to say a Telkom landline for example.

The Vodacom line is not good with calls.
So I use MTN SIM for voice and Vodacom for data. Happy camper with this phone's dual SIM ability

If it's the screen, see how low you can set the brightness to still be comfortable for reading.

Also remember Dark Mode is meant for night viewing. Not daylight stuff (won't help your battery drain problem).
