The Official Xiaomi Thread

Just ordered this case for the Note 8 - https://www.takealot.com/digitronic...arbon-case-for-xiaomi-redmi-note/PLID61035291 . Will take a while to get here so hopefully it's good enough quality and a little less slippery than the one that comes in the box.
Case arrived today. Seems to fit well and is a step up from the case that came with the phone. Doesn't feel as slippery as the clear case; and it doesn't have the annoying dust cover for the power connector which just frustrated me when I tried to get the cable plugged in.

Welcome to the Xiaomi club

What made you ditch Sagsmug? (just curious to know)
I was waiting for Amoled to reach the Redmi range.Even the normal Redmi Note 10 has an amoled screen.

Amoled was the only selling point for me, when choosing Samsung.

Btw 1 of the reviews mentions that the Note 10 pro uses the same amoled panel of the S21(im assuming entry model).

Oh and Samsung need to ditch in screen fingerprint scanner, it's kak.

I prefer it on the side. I feel bad for Sony they started the trend but can barely sell phones.

The fingerprint reader on the back works for me. Touch it, pick up phone, already unlocked.

Ya it is a brilliant phone and I prob would have bought this, as only reason I didnt buy the note 9 pro is lack of amoled. Only thing I find odd, is that EIS video is limited to 1080p, 4k has no stabilisation. Maybe will come with a firmware update

Actually I wouldn't count on it to be honest. EIS limited to 1080p has been a recurring theme for a lot of Xiaomi phones. Reviewers have often said that it might come later, but so far it hasn't for any of my phones.

Anyone know of an alternate ROM that I can flash on my Mi 6?
Something better than MIUI.

Have noticed that in a number of reviews, I wouldn't personally bet on it but who knows.

It could well be down to the lower end processors Xiaomi use in the cheaper models. 4K EIS will likely overtax the processor so Xiaomi sensibly restrict it.

This is what I ordered from Loot today. It looks too good to be true, so I hope it isn't.

According to Loot:
The standard
*Unboxed deals are returned and shop-soiled products that are sold at highly discounted prices. Loot quality checks each product and the discounted price is dependant on the quality of the product. Unboxed products may show signs of use, cosmetic damage and/or doesn’t have the original packaging.

but then...
Customer return, no issues with the phone.

Tell us how it goes. Used laptops are highly reliable, not sure about phones.

The phone is expected to ship on Thursday, so I'll probably get it by next Friday or the following Monday and I'll let you guys know.

Loot doesn't mention anything about damage to the phone, but R1950 looks suspiciously low.
An absolute bargain. If you not happy they give your money back. You're winning whatever happens
