The Official Xiaomi Thread

I was considering the 4 Prime but sadly not many stores seem to stock them and the variety of accessories is not at all great compared to the Note models

Use the exact same accessories as the Xiaomi Redmi 4, and I see they call it by different names at the online shops.

Only problem I can see is that you might struggle to get a black one.

I bought one of these for my son and have been very impressed with it so far. Haven't had a chance to see what the camera is like, but everything else works really well. And that battery! Performance is indistinguishable from my old Nexus 5X and it lasts at least twice as long on a charge.

Thanks AJ.

It is pretty tempting however I see despite the specs being more or less the same (Same SoC and battery), the endurance rating is higher on the Note 4 than the Redmi 4 Prime (119h
vs 91h)Pretty strange that the model with the bigger screen has better battery life.

Anywho, I shall see once I have my Note 4 - maybe I sell it and downgrade to the smaller device :)

To be honest I have no idea, what makes it stranger is that i just today got a package from them via DHL that was bought on Friday.

erm Wait, did he select dhl ext, or regular dhl. Cause for phone he must select plain DHL I suspect that is what she is trying to say in broken english. Maybe ask about that.

DHL EX. He just saw $28 vs $60 and skimped out. According to research that was supposed to be faster or something.

Yasmin's English was waaaay better in explaining that than the one you got from Liz.

I got this when I tried that option the 1st time:
I am sorry that we cannot send your item (Some present for a friend) via the shipping method you've chose DHL(EXT).
This is due to the limitation of the shipping company.

To solve this issue, we can ship your order via DHL(SA). The shipping time is 3-7 working days and there is price differece 3.36 USD

Ask Liz if they can Ship via DHL(SA) and what the difference is.

Edit: When I order small things like covers and such DHL(EXT) seems to work.

That is odd.....I have bought in 4 parcels this year from Gearbest, and I only have them ship to me with DHL. There was no problem. I have also had 3 parcels from Tinyurl sent by DHL, also no problem.

Ok make sense. just spoke to a friend on Skype that said you can not ship Lithium batteries or items that contain Lithium batteries via DHL(EXT).

Maybe we should update top post with said info.

Shot guys. He is sorting it out with GB will let you guys know what happens.

Okay, that makes sense, I know they have become very strict recently, and I think sellers risk getting huge fines if they send batteries or liquids by air due to the risk of fire/explosion on the plane. On a number of occasions I have been trying to import several power bank batteries, but could never find a seller on eBay that would send to me - they say "cannot ship this to your country". Gearbest also declined to send me something that contained liquid.

But....I have had several phones sent to me from Gearbest that include a battery, and there was no problem with that....so go figure.

You can ship phones via DHL, just not DHL(EXT) as I understand it DHL(EXT) goes into cargo hold of passenger planes whereas the other goes onto actual cargo planes.

They messaged him back. Said they will switch it to DHL (SA) and they are refunding him the difference. How is there a difference?? Shouldn't he have to pay in?

Anyway as long as the phone gets here by next week.

An hour into the day and I've lost a third of my battery power :crylaugh:

Screen brightness is set to manual @ 25%, GPS and Wifi off. Looking so forward to the Note 4 so that I can get rid of this battery hog :)

Which device have you got there?

Redmi Note 2.

I suspect mine may have a duff battery. I usually unplug it at around 06:45 when I wake up and by the time I leave the house at 08:00 it has dropped about 15% or so. In that time I may have the screen on for 10 minutes to respond to messages or check the forums.

I can't say I am impressed although I was warned upon purchasing it that the Note 2 units don't really have stellar battery life to start off with

Definitely doesn't sound right.
I've had an hour of SoT this morning on my note 3, and I'm at 89%.

I get about 1.5 day battery life out of my Note 2
The biggest difference you can make - go to Security app and go through every single app on the list, and change settings for startup, wifi, notifications, location etc.
All the background activity of apps that zap your battery
