The Official Xiaomi Thread

Anybody know where we can get Xiaomi batteries?

My old Note 10 Pro barely lasts a day. The part number is BN53, original xiaomi battery preferred.

I cannot find anywhere? Importing is the last resort.
Tried looking but couldn't find any, you might be able to ask one of the Bobshop sellers if they can import for you.

i'm in the same boat with my Mi 9, phone works great still, just battery life, and I'm concerned about non oem and fast charging.
This should fit, but best to make 100% sure of the model as some batteries differ within the same range (Redmi Note 4x and Note 4 Global comes to mind, same phone but different batteries)

Wow, thanks, last time I checked bob shop didn't have any, I wonder if I can stop fast charging in software.

There are some apps that claim they can do that, but you need to have a rooted phone, and they seem very hit and miss.

I recall using something similar with an old Xperia phone that I tried resurrecting. Might be easier to just use a slow charger where you normally charge it.

I'm wondering if you guys well versed in Xiaomi can give some opinions or guidance.

I currently have a Huawei Mate 10 Pro, been going on since it was released.
One requirement I have is a built-in (OS-level preferred) call recorder.

So which phones can I look at if I want to replace my Mate 10 pro? Preferably same(ish) price as I paid for the Mate 10 pro- R14k back then- but with better performance?

I think I've made up my mind, switching to a Sammy A34 (budget a bit tight for the A54), longer warranty, and much longer OS updates.
better specced too than the similar priced Note 12 pro 4G. I'll miss the IR Blaster, but i think overall it's worth switching.
I switched last year from Xiaomi to Samsung A33 + GW5, no reason other than a good deal I found. At first I missed the IR blaster and some small things on Xiaomi. But I got used to the NFC + Google wallet, so much that I would struggle to switch back to Xiaomi. When will Xiaomi have NFC and Google wallet support on their watches and phones?

Do they not have Google wallet on the phones ? My Mi 9 is flashed with pixel experience and I had google wallet until they blocked it due to custom rom.
I would also like a wtch with it, that'd be nice.

Probably, but what's the use without NFC.

IR Blaster just to change channels and volume on your TV?

Are you talking baout watches or phones, cause my phone has NFC.

My tv remote is buggered and I use the phone to turn it off, wake on lan to turn it on, and media pc for general use.
I use it for controlling the aircons at the office which have restricted control panels. I use it literally ever day.

Both, I had a Note 9S and a Amazfit GTS, with no NFC on both. So the newer Xiaomi's comes with NFC?
Some do some dont. Hade a Redmi Note 11 which I bought without checking NFC, and it didnt have it. Sold and bought a Mi 11 Lite and it has NFC

To my knowledge, i stand to be corrected here, it is only Xiaomi that offers the built-in Cal Record feature, and that is via the Google Phone app. Other OEMs don't offer this. IR Blasters are available on Honor and Xiaomi devices.

I've also had a Mate 10 Pro for the same reason. Currently using a POCO F5. In between these 2 devices, I've had OnePlus 6T, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Pixel 5a, and POCO F4.

I got the new Xiaomi TV Box - 2nd Gen.
Chrome browser is not installed.
When I search for Chrome it says Chrome is not available on this TV.

Logged in successfully through Google Home using 2FA.
Have updated Google TV on the device to latest version.
I have contacted Xiaomi support, got canned response to factory reset - which I have done.

Frustrated because in all the local reviews (stuff.co.za and mybroadband.co.za) They all mention that the Chrome browser is a nice new addition. Partly why I chose this device.

Good day all.

I have just purchased a Xiaomi Redmi 10C Single sim. Not a bad device so far except the ads which I managed to turn off.

Just curious about the "Single Sim"
On the box there is actually 2 IMEIs the second one was covered by a sticker.

Under the settings in the phone there are no dual sim options.

So my question is as follows. Is this actually a Dual Sim that MTN modified and can dual sim be enabled?

Yes and yes. You'll have to flash a generic firmware to get the dual sim menu in settings. If your sim card tray doesn't have space for 2 sim cards, then you'll need to import a dual sim tray too. The phone internals are already dual sim ready, just dormant.
