The Official Xiaomi Thread

Tried looking but couldn't find any, you might be able to ask one of the Bobshop sellers if they can import for you.

This should fit, but best to make 100% sure of the model as some batteries differ within the same range (Redmi Note 4x and Note 4 Global comes to mind, same phone but different batteries)
Update, got the battery, it fits, doing a capacity test now.
Pro tip, if you don't have a nice fancy metal spudger like they use in the teardown video's, use a Feeler Guage, they are readily available, super cheap and offer much more choice in thickness vs strength.
I struggled a bit with plastic picks and then had brain waves and boom immediately got the phone open without breaking the glass.

Wooaahhh... Hadn't even thought of this. Thank you.

Morning

Any advice on where I could take my Vaccum Mop P which does not mop anymore? I'm in Pretoria

Hi guys. Looking at a new phone for my mom.
She has had the Huawei P smart 2019 for some years now and needs something new.
I am thinking of the below phone. Specs seem OK, my only concern is the ram is only 4gb. not much of an upgrade over the 3gb she has.

Is there something newer/better in a similar price range?

Got this Note 11 for my wife, to replace her awful P20 Lite, she's loving it, fast and no issues with the 4gb ram.

I got the new Xiaomi TV Box - 2nd Gen.
Chrome browser is not installed.
When I search for Chrome it says Chrome is not available on this TV.

Logged in successfully through Google Home using 2FA.
Have updated Google TV on the device to latest version.
I have contacted Xiaomi support, got canned response to factory reset - which I have done.

Frustrated because in all the local reviews (stuff.co.za and mybroadband.co.za) They all mention that the Chrome browser is a nice new addition. Partly why I chose this device.
Android TV does not support Chrome. You do get some other browsers that can work though.

I can definitly see that capacity is back just on how much longer a charge lasts, so I'm happy.

I have a Redmi Note 10s, and haven't had any issues with the phone so far. This morning I can't open the Play store, it just keeps crashing as it opens. I tried all the steps I could find online, restarting the phone, clearing cache, uninstalling updates etc but it is still crashing. Anybody else had something like this?

While trying to get into play store the phone dropped wifi a few times and I noticed I can get in while on mobile data and then turn on wifi. But if wifi is on play store just crashes immediately.

I have one of those. (possibly a slightly older model). My main concern is that the battery does not last very long.

I'm keeping it in my car in case of emergency but you need to charge the battery every couple of months because it seems to wear down when not in use.

Its pretty slow at filling a tyre. It's great for the kid's balls though.

To my knowledge, i stand to be corrected here, it is only Xiaomi that offers the built-in Cal Record feature, and that is via the Google Phone app. Other OEMs don't offer this. IR Blasters are available on Honor and Xiaomi devices.

I've also had a Mate 10 Pro for the same reason. Currently using a POCO F5. In between these 2 devices, I've had OnePlus 6T, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Pixel 5a, and POCO F4.
Have seen some youtube videos that say if you change samsungs CSC code ie to be india or other country that is ok with recordings the record function pops up (if someone has done it chime in)

Also trying to find a solution for my wife with auto recording

And naturally don't want to buy more than one phone to get one that works

We are currently using note 9s with the recording function
She wants something that auto records

Anybody with a note 12 /pro/pro+

That can give a heads up if the auto record option is available in the global version
