The Official Xiaomi Thread

Xiaomi is meh to average on ui and software and bloated with crapware that I would say is worse than Samsung.
Decent on hardware but it's aggressive memory management is frustrating.
Decent battery life but again it's cos the memory management kills everything in the background.

Honestly, watch videos and look at your options. Decide what fits your needs.
Thank you bud, I'm looking for something that is going to be future proofed for the next couple of years.

I've had a lot of xiaomi devices but I only buy ones that are going to be well supported by custom ROM devs. I would not buy one if I had to run their default OS.

If you are prepared to install at the very least the debloated EU roms then I would say go for it otherwise have a look at the other options.

Last time I tried to load a custom ROM I bricked my device too scared to try that again. I just sold my Odin 2 max, Game emulation on android wasn't any fun for me. main priority is cameras, performance and software. Plus being able to fix it locally. I'm not cheap but eishh Samsung kinda expensive

Anyone else try Nanozee tech. I found his website on Carbornite with Great reviews but it seems he's banned now. That's where I found the Redmi turbo 3 for R7000. Don't know if he's legit now.

I've never dealt with them, but the Redmi Turbo is not under Local Stock on their website.

You might have to wait a while for delivery if it's drop shipped from China.

Yeah... Same phone. Frustrating as hell. Still using it now but I'm shopping around now for another.
thank goodness im not the only one ,wasnt a great purchase ,not in daily use no more ,now its just an alarm clock with lousy battery life .

Same here, shopping for a new phone. Realme updates or ack of updates really Suck. Nothing ever gets fixed, but a riddled mess, plus overheating. No phone looks great at a budget of 7 to 8k. Samsung really looks like the way to go but the price tag is damn expensive my mom has a Redmi note 9s, virtually had no updates at all.

Feck, Xiaomi must be the most divisive company in existence:

You get okes who swear by the brand & will suck it’s cock

AND

You get okes who dismiss it outright, never giving it a glance, badly burned etc

It was great once. But that was at the time they offered value for money and the updates were on par with other OEMs.
Now Samsung is giving 5 to 7 years on their flagships and 3 to 5 years on their A series, plus the A series has really picked up the slack

Brand feels like it's stuck in 2018. I made a whole rant post about how their features on different levels are confusing as ****. I want them to do better. That's why I bought it in the first place.
