The Official Xiaomi Thread

This the same as Samsung Wallet? You using it, and how does it work.
I do actually use Samsung Wallet, but we're talking about the cost of the device :) as in the price of the Xiaomi comes close to the cost of the Samsung of similar quality.

Because after you said Samsung Money. This looks totally different to Samsung Wallet and sound interesting:

Not an app or anything, in reference to the cost, like saying if you have Apple Money get an Apple.

Thanks for this, the POCO seems to be a better option. I'm just a bit concerned about after sales support.
Wife has a 3 year old Redmi, I had one. No problems whatsoever. Only sold mine as I didn't check before buying if it has NFC

Any suggestions on where to look for a good deal on the Poco x6 Pro? Only ones with decent prices i have been able to google is Techinn (which is by all accounts a huge NO) and ITworkup (also a no since i have never even heard if them).

What do you see as a "decent" price?

Amazon US has the 512 gig model for about R7200. The 256 gig is cheaper.

once you add the shipping plus a cover or two and a screen protector or two then you will spend closer to R10k ...... if you don't get those accessories as soon as you buy the phone you will struggle to get them here - so you should be adding those to your order of the actual phone itself

also don't forget that those phones come with a charger in the box and the ones from Amazon US will only work on 110 volt wall plugs so you need a 110v to 220v adapter as well which will probably add around another estimated R1500 to the order

All wrong!

The price I mentioned includes tax and shipping. Screen protectors are about R10 to R20 each on Temu. Screen covers too, but Xiaomi includes a silicone cover in the phone's box. The chargers are all multi-volt 110 / 220 volt. At worst, you may need an adapter, but generally they do to SA with a European charger.

Can confirm this part. Recently got a Xiaomi Pad 6 from Amazon and it came with a brick charger and an adapter from EU to US plugs, which means I didn't need the adapter as it's just the 2 prong plugs we use here.

Thats on me, something that isn't Samsung. I prefer to pay for performance rather than logo. Then again, Xiaomi has been going downhill in that department hence the switch to Poco

This has most likely been asked but there are so many messages to go through…

Would anyone recommend the Redmi A3 for a 60 year old person who only needs a phone for WhatsApp?

It's not a spectacular phone by any means, but for what you want it, it will be fine.

Thank you Bliksis.

I just want it to be reasonably reliable and I have no experience with Xiaomi so any advice from anyone on this thread will be appreciated.
