Thanks guys. Unemployed right now, so every cent counts (and also why I'm not replacing a phone under contract). May try my luck at importing. Have a great one!

Problem is that that phone doesn't play it that order . It's got its own random order which doesn't make sense. Is there a way to force it to use track name for order. Can't seem to find this option.

Had the same issue with the stock music app (huawei). Installed the google music app, much better.

There are also other players available should you not want googly stuff.
 
Has anyone sent in a phone for repairs with MI Africa?

I ordered 2 from zasstra yesterday. Couldn't find locally, though I didn't try China mall type shops.

on that note i see one can refer a friend for a voucher on zasstra. wish somebody had referred me that would've been R50 off. oh well here's the link https://www.talkable.com/x/hwQaZC i don't even care about the voucher they'll give me if somebody uses it, since i don't shop on zasstra at all. was forced to now to get a screen protector and case for the note 4x before the inevitable happens.

I have tried with 4 different devices and cannot find Spotify on the Android play store. Does it have to be downloaded by APK from the internet ? I can only find it if I search on the web, but is not in the store.

EDIT Okay, from the web I see it is not available in the South African Android store, bummer. I will have to try it out next time I am in the UK.

Download the apk then download hola from play store, open hola and set the country to UK or US then open Spotify from within the hola app

This might just get me back to 5.5" again..... Its both Xiaomi + Pure Android.

Lets hope its Xiaomi Price + Android update cycle.

My guess on pricing here is R4,999. In India, the phone is priced 50% higher than the Redmi Note 4 and they'll probably do the same here. Would love it to be lower, but it will still be an interesting proposition if the cameras show promise.
 
waiting for my note 4x, should be here by tomorrow.
so hoping its price is significantly more, else ill be a bit bummed since I waited a while to order :)
 
Well I never. I was a diehard Samsung fan but recently playing around with Xiaomi phones I'm starting to recommend them.
