The only gripe with the Note 2 is its stuck on Android 5. The software is stable though.

Can get the note 3 at the same kind of price now. Even the note 4 if you look hard enough. Not worth it in my opinion now.

Phone feels a bit bigger and more solid with that case. Now I need to get a magnet for my dash.

Was also thinking of ordering from them, depending on delivery time

How long? Ordered on the weekend.

Was also thinking of ordering from them, depending on delivery time

Scrolling back and forth in this thread, I found I placed the initial order on the 16th August, then the initial payment on the 17th August.

And I received the wossname this morning (7th September).

YMMV.

I have watched countless youtube videos and done google searches, and spent hours experimenting but I am not coming right.

I don't want to root my Xiaomi MI Max 2. How do I get read and write permissions for the SD card with the latest 8.5 MIUI ? I am using a Samsung 64 GB SD card.

And how do you copy a large volume of music or pictures to the SD card in your Xiaomi ? I have tried connecting my phone up to my Windows 10 computer to use MiPCSuit, but my computer does not recognise my phone. Is there a driver I need to install ? Oh, I have activated developer options, and tried switching on USB debugging, and it is set for MTP

Any chance of connecting a Xiaomi phone up to a MacBook Pro ?

Had a similar problem back when I had an MTK model note 4. did not bookmark the fix but remembered that it was Mi's PCsuite that broke it, had to restore Windows 10's default drivers.

Enable Documents under All apps within settings. Just remember after every reboot you'll have to do it again. To copy stuff to the SD card use Airdroid or similar and do it via wifi.

been an issue with miui 8 since the beginning.

one of the many small things that irritate me about miui... the way successfully transfer files on and from my xiaomi is by going into explorer on the phone and enable ftp, the you go on the pc and type in that adress and viola

That was one thing I saw on youtube and tried a few days ago. However, there is no "Documents" under all apps on MIUI 8.5 with the Mi Max 2. I spent about half an hour searching for it, thinking it may be hidden, but it is not on there

Thanks for that - I will try that with my Windows 10 laptop.

I did come right a few hours ago, when trying to connect to my MacBook Pro. On my Xiaomi I had to go into developer options, and then changed a few things - activated USB debugging, allow USB permissions for USB debugging, install via USB, force allow apps on external storage, and then from "select USB configuration", it was set to "charging" and I changed it to MTP

After changing those settings, I downloaded "Android File Transfer" onto my Mac. I was then able to transfer folders and files to my Xiaomi at up to 4 GB at a time.

You would think they would make it easier to get stuff onto the SD card....
