SO I have been having an issue with my new MI6, got it for about 3 months now and ever since my battery life wasn't great at all.I barely just make it through the day. I spoke to @camiKaze on this forum and he is getting excellent battery life.
Im not an intensive user, mostly use it for calls and whatsapp with the occasional browsing,(I've got Instagram but hardly ever go into the app).I noticed when its fully charged before I go sleep by the morning it looses between 20% and 30%,So I have tried the battery saver, stopped apps that run in the background that i hardly use(instagram etc) limited what uses data on mobile connection but to no avail still having the same issue.

However I seemed to have made some headway and FYI to other telkom mobile users.
Since I was having signal issues with telkom, this past week end I set it to constantly roam on the MTN network(as telkom roams on MTN where there is no signal) and low and behold its been a day or 21h24m and my battery is sitting on 74%.:D
While I cant say for sure it has to do with the telkom network but if it is the telkom network I would like to know why.

With the battery now on 73% I have set it back to telkom and to only roam on MTN when there is no signal to see if it starts draining and will report back here.
Are any other users experiencing similar battery issues?

A phone that is constantly looking for a signal or better signal will rape a battery.

Has anyone seen the list of Xiaomi devices that Vodacom will be offering on contract from 01/11/2017 (tomorrow) as mentioned in an earlier article on MyBB?

Yes, from below thread, first page, voice.pdf https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=315209.

Contract prices are no different to what you will find in Game, Dion, Makro, Incredible etc.

Vodacoms new deals only come out next week, so don't go running tomorrow

@slickster Try flashing the latest global rom. It will update your firmware and modem. If that's your problem it should be fixed.

Anyone know where to get these repairs? Insurance now want a damage report and quotes for repair/replacement.

Rather sad - phone was partially working - but when I tried to remove the sim cards it completely died.. the actual sim card holder is a bit bent.

They're going to collect the phone for a repair quote :wtf:

So this morning I drove over my Note 4 - it survived... surprisingly - but not in a good state.

Wtf, did a car run it over?

.

Eina...doesn't look too bad really. The chassis still looks straight

Nah... its skew if you look at it from the side... almost like a wave. It was actually working considerably well until I had to take the sim cards out.

I've written of my Samsung and Huawei phone just by dropping it - so impressed this dude so well.

I wouldn't repair that.....a good excuse to buy a nice new shiny Xiaomi of your choice. They are cheap enough to just replace

Neither would I - but insurance insists on a repair quotation - I'd be very surprised if its less than the replacement cost.
