Thanks. Read that yesterday - not exactly a stellar review but definitely value for money. Will wait to hear from those here with experience with the unit.
Yes, I have a black Xiaomi Mi Max 2 - since July. I love it !!!!! I have no desire to change it for anything else. I wouldn't swop it for an iPhone X or Samsung Note 8.
It is a large phone at 6.44" screen size, so it's not everyones cup of tea. But I like large phones, if I only made phone calls then I would go for the smallest phone available....but these days my smart phone is used about 1 % of the time for calls, and for 99 % of the time it is used for media consumption, WhatsApp, GPS navigation, camera, watching movies, looking at photos, apps etc etc - so a larger device gives a way better experience.
The SIM tray has two slots, either SIM and SIM, or SIM and micro SD card. I use SIM and 64 GB micro SD card. I have never tried two SIM cards in there, but I have no doubt it would work as you want it to. In the phone settings you can allocate how each SIM card is used.
I never thought I would use one of those phone ring things, but it was only a few dollars, so I bought one and put it at the back of the phone on the back case. It really makes handling the large phone much easier. With the ring through a finger, one handed phone operation is easy, and safe - no chance of the phone slipping out the hand.
Good points: Incredible large immersive display. Crisp, clear, no pixels seen.
Excellent sound - stereo using two speakers on the forehead and chin of the phone
Battery life !!!!! excellent. Best smartphone battery life I have encountered, only charge my phone every 3 - 4 days
Build quality - excellent, seamless, nice rounded edges, slim
Fingerprint sensor - excellent. Brush your finger past the sensor and it wakes up and opens the phone instantly. Fast and accurate
Bad points ? I have been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to think of some, and can't come up with any compelling bad points. There are some features that are "average" but certainly not bad. Camera is plenty good enough for me, although some perfectionists might call it "average". MIUI based on Android Nougat works well, although it is rather bland. I downloaded a few launchers off the play store, and use one of them rather than the stock launcher.
At the price on Gearbest, I think it is one of the best buys out there....providing you like larger phones. If this phone gets stolen, I would buy another BLACK Mi Max 2 tomorrow...
