Have a look currenly, you will see the Mi Mix, the Mi 6, Mi Pad, Mi Note 3 etc those are considered their better devices.

Where are you looking for specs/comparisons/reviews/etc? Their website (if so, please provide URL), GSM Arena, etc...?

GSM arena

Thanks again. Looking at Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 on GSM Arena now. Wouldn't mind versatility of a tablet sized phone (used to Samsung Note series, but would consider bigger). Does the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 have FULL phone functionality?

Ever since my MIUI update, my hotspot is flaky. Works for about 3 to 5 mins then it cuts out.

Any ideas on how to fix this annoying issue?

I seem to think not. Rather go for the Mi Max 2 if you are looking for the big screen experience IMHO

I had this exact same problem on a LG G3 after an update, tried everything with no luck. Eventually resetting to factory fixed it.

Try kimovil.com. They have an excellent website and comparison tool

Still shopping... Anyone here with the Mi Max 2? What's your experience? Specifically interested to know whether dual sim works as stated (i.e. can take 2 sim cards - one voice, one data OR one voice and data, one SD card)? How future proof is the device?

I believe surfs-up has one. He seems quite happy with it from what I can recall. Hopefully he will chime in here soon.

With MIUI you are able to set which SIM defaults to which service, ie. one for voice and one for data or you can use both for voice IIRC. I am not sure if you can use both for data at the same time. If it has a hybrid SIM tray you can only use 1 SIM + SD or 2 SIM and no SD, but there are ways around it with some clever shaving and cutting if you want to risk it. MIUI keeps their devices current, probably not as much as Samsung but you should get updates for at least two years after release.

Thanks. Sounds promising. Am looking to replace my Windows phone .Last Android phablet stolen mid-contract and wanted a cheap phone to stand in - should've looked here to begin with. Either way, has to be a phablet, tired of having 2 devices - a phone and 8" tablet on me. Is this the largest of the Xiaomi's?

By screen size? Yip. Unless you go for the tablets but they have no cellular capability.

Give this a read: https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_max_2-review-1642.php

I am not sure if the split screen capability has been sorted yet as that would be a dealbreaker for me on a phone of this size

Thanks. Read that yesterday - not exactly a stellar review but definitely value for money. Will wait to hear from those here with experience with the unit.
