Looking around its about $110, depending on where you buy.
This looks epic. Any local stockists? I'm guessing not so much?

Since the Note 2 have removeable battery.
Do you know any Note 2 user to try their battery to verify the fault ?
Negative. I got mine just before that epic R1899 Note 3 WeChat special so pretty much everyone that's near me with Xiaomi phones are all the version above mine :(

Does weChat often have exciting specials like that? Worth downloading the app just for that? (rather than using it to chat with)

They have good specials every now and again. A while ago you could get an Xbox One for R1999 but so many people tried buying it and the website ended up crashing :crylaugh:

Ya - I guess they can't have amazing promotions all the time. Is this what they have at the moment?

It seems like it, yeah.

A while ago they were pushing specials through Stuff Magazine which you can get here in SA. You bought it via the WeChat wallet and then you could claim the money back as a rebate, but I myself have not used it as I was rather unsuccessful in obtaining said Xbox One.

Bad news is that I see the Note 2 that I bought only had a one year warranty with Takealot, and I am about a month too late to return it so I will be stuck with the buggy battery until my Note 4 arrives (which is still not in sight as I enquired at the Post Office yesterday and all I received were shrugged shoulders and an "Andiyaas".

I am looking to see if I can find batteries for sale locally, but on the other hand I should probably just wait my Note 4 out and see what happens when it arrives. If it arrives :p

Didn't you receive a tracking number?

What note 2 is that? The Redmi Note 2 or the Mi Note 2?

I'm struggling now, over two weeks with a decision : Mi Max or Mi Note 2........or should I just go with the Note 4.....
My wife wants my Redmi Note 3.

I do have a tracking number but the information stops once it enters SA for both the phone itself and the accessories I ordered.

The lady at the PO said that it hasn't been booked in to their stores yet but she also cannot pick anything up with the foreign tracking number and it hasn't been allocated a SA tracking number yet.

I currently have the Redmi Note 2. I have never gotten good battery life out of it since I got it but I could not be bothered to get a replacement one as I started using it and gave my old phone away. AlphaJohn loves his Redmi Note 4 and I ordered the same one. The Mi Max is a bit too much for me, and I prefer the sharper display of the 5.5" display. The Mi Note 2 has some impressive specs, no doubt

Try an app called 17Track. I used it to track my MiBand from Hong Kong. Works really nicely.

Was just about to recommend 17track, there's also some others, that tracks better than the SAPO trackers. And they still track after the parcel enters South Africa.

@Wabbit16, what shipping did you choose? EMS, registered or ??

I have been getting this all week. No luck :(

Second that and also the sms.postoffice.co.za one
I don't know about this? Please elaborate if you don't mind :)

I currently have my tracking numbers entered into the Deliveries Android app but this also brings up nothing.

I used normal shipping, but I paid with PayPal so if I do not receive it soon I will log a dispute

Redmi Note 4 (MTK) will only be a slight speed upgrade to Note 3 (SD650). Note 4 (SD625) on the other hand is slightly slower than Note 3 but will outlast both re battery. The Note 4 (SD625) does not suffer from heat either even at full load over time where the other 2 will eventually heat up and slow down, like playing Real Racing for 30+ minutes.

So if you looking at Note 4 take that into account.

Also on a side-note found out yesterday Gearbest now removed the DHL(EXT) option when buying phones No more downgrade to DHL(SA) for cheaper shipping, so expect to pay $60 shipping if you going DHL strait.

How long ago did you order? My MiBand took over a month to arrive via normal shipping from Geekbuying.

Anyone curious about the Aramex shipping option on Gearbest?
I used them and delivery took 10 days. Customs was reasonable and overall a good experience.

I ordered on 27 March but they only sent it out on the 14th of April. I suppose it is still a bit soon to be worrying, hey? This was with Geekbuying. I specifically did not go with premium rated shipping as, in my eyes, that defeats the point of buying a cheap phone from overseas. I would rather have waited it out as nothing was chasing me, but now that my Redmi Note 2 battery is acting up I am getting slightly impatient. I guess I should have opted for express shipping but hindsight is as they say 20/20

Normal shipping can take very long. Especially at Johannesburg mail exchange. The one phone I ordered on normal mail, took over two months, of which a month and a half at Johannesburg mail (JIMC). The last one I ordered, via EMS, took 2 weeks.
