Did you set this as well?
Hi, a further update a week later.
I had double checked this and those setttings seems to do nothing.
So last Monday, when I was in Europe - none of the SIMs worked (I can't even make phone calls) even though everything is authorised/enabled. I did the only thing I could think off (and what I didn't want to do) and factory reset and started again. Then it worked i.e. mobile data worked via EU SIM and I could make phone calls using the EU SIM. The FNB SIM (SIM 1) was only enabled for SMS roaming so I couldn't test to see if data would work but all my SMSs were coming in. I could reactivate Whatsapp, Mi Account, etc
All was well until I came back today. Since everything appeared to work, I changed Dial + Internet from EU SIM to FNB SIM (while phone was in flight mode - and I was on plane) ... some funny warning came up which I had to accept. I land and both SIMS register on network. FNB to FNB (get 3G signal at OR Tambo) and the EU SIM registers on MTN. - NOTHING works. The EU SIM which previously worked when it was in a Nokia refused to use data even though roaming was enabled.
So I back to the same problem again. As a test, I removed both SIMS, and then put in another SIM from MTN in SIM SLot 1. Phone registers and data works. I put on
only the FNB sim back in - nothing ! SMSs work but I can't make phone calls - call ends immediately, and data doesn't work.
So to 'fix' this fsck up of an issue, I will have to reset my phone and do everything again ... It is ridiculous.. I think I am done with Xiaomi - for trying to use their features. There is some bug in the software controlling the dual sim feature that is disabling something which we as the uses can't access and it is not enabling it again. It is definitely remembering something about the SIMS becuase new network SIMS seem to work with no issues but putting in the old ones - is blocked.
Edit: @CamiKaze: Can you post your APN settings for the FNB SIM on your phone? I wonder if mines is screwy...
Edit Post 2: I just tried FNB SIM 1 and MTN SIM 2. I then set FNB SIM 1 as phone and MTN SIM2 as Internet. In this mode, Internet works on phone. Switching Internet back to FNB - results in once again no mobile data. I also can't make phone calls on FNB network even though I have Airtime and 3GB data as per *111# but SMSs work. Could it be possible that the SIM is borked?
