The Official Xiaomi Thread

Quite a number of changes - some ohk some good - some not ohk, and some not available by default if using old gen phones. Overall quite a decent update. Just not a fan of the fonts.

Awesome phone but just wish the screen was bigger, prefer bigger phones and this just not big enough. But other then that an amazing phone that is definitely one of the better ones I've used.

Interesting, personal preference I guess. I was looking at it but I decided the screen was too big, I prefer smaller ones (I'd have a new iPhone SE if it wasn't stupidly expensive, I prefer that size though.)

PM me if/when you sell.

Hi Guys, not getting feedback from Mia Africa. Does the Redmi 9c have NFC, there seems to be two models, they mention in their marketing email that it does but nowhere on their website.

Correct me if I'm wrong but NFC. Only works with Samsung and I think iPhone in SA ?

No, all flagships for any brand will have NFC . It's when you get to midrange is when NFC seems to be the first thing that is dropped. So even the Mi 5 from 2016 had NFC.

The redmi range tends not to have it apart from a few exceptions.
 
ok then, so only the Redmi Note 9 Pro has NFC... have to save up
 
I had a Nokia which had NFC and it worked just fine with FNB Pay.

AFAIK the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has NFC, but I don't see it on the Mia Africa website last time I checked.
 
Looking to get my gran the Redmi 9C 2gb for video calling.

Is it the best in its price category? Not sure of the equivalent Samsung / Huawei / Hisense.

Also, how long does Mia Africa take to deliver to main centers?
 
I'm looking at that same phone, also for an older family member.
Trying to work out if the redmi 9C is any better than the redmi 8A

Here is a comparison for you. 9c is obviously a newer phone and only has a very slight bigger screen and for instance a fingerprint reader, rest of specs very similar.
 
NFC is always hit and miss but given the direction the world is heading in with contactless payments becoming a thing. It becomes a crucial thing. Glad I also considered that as a must have when getting a Xiaomi phone. Some have NFC in certain regions only.
