The Official Xiaomi Thread

Trawled in this thread as I could not remember when I got my 4A.

According to the above quoted post, it was on the 2nd Aug 2017.

And today's the 27th Feb 2021.

So I had my 4A for 3 years 7 months. Simply wow.

Have mine for 3 years or so now, but its getting slow and struggle to do simple things. Battery is still good last for a full day no problem with heavy usage on browsing internet and WhatsApp throughout the day.

Would like to buy a newer version, but then see the prices and think to my self nope I am fine will wait another year or two.

Will not settle for anything less than a xiaomi redmi note 9S and not willing to pay R5000 for a phone not yet atleast.

Yeah. Note 8 was within my budget. Would love to have the latest and newest, but beggars can't be choosers.... unless I get a sugar mommy....

Mine also got sluggish until I deleted some extra stuff, then it was good again... until I loaded too much stuff...

Anybody thoughts these outlets? Stuff to watch out for and such.

Best to stick with the tried and trusted guys as they've got a reputation to upheld.

First time I've ever heard of connectdevices.co.za - what are their returns policy like?

Connected Devices is legit, some people on this forum have bought from them with no issues and they were also featured in a Mybroadband article.

I went high end for my current phone (Xiaomi Mi10T 5G), but I’m hoping it will still be good to use in three years with maybe just a new battery replacement to pay for.

The interesting thing with Xiaomi is that you rarely read anything bad about their phones on the Internet. No major issues or unhappy customers. And I surf the Internet a lot looking for stuff like that.

The Redmi Go did have this happen though when I was comparing it to the Nokia 1...... I chose the tough Nokia 1. You know tough and all. Mistake. HMD dropped the ball on the Nokia 1 with software updates that basically ruined an excellent phone. Anyway here is the video (not in English but worth the watch):

Just got Android 11 on my Mi 10T, better late than never I suppose.

My budget Mi 10 Lite got it in December...

Anyone find a good working gcam for the Note 8 with night shot?

Yeah, that's really interesting. Probably one of the few Chinese products (bar COVID) which'll last and last and last....

The poor phone, what did it do to deserve such rough treatment?

I've seen techinn advertised before, some decent prices listed but it seems fishy to me.
