The Official Xiaomi Thread

I have enabled Dev mode on my phone but always-on still does not work. The clock on the always-on display disappears again after a few seconds. Is there anything else I need to do after I enable development mode?
Hmmm I didn't have to do anything else to get mine to work. Maybe try a few different stock AOD backgrounds / clocks and see if one works?

Just to report back that I have tried that and still didn't work unfortunately. I tried various backgrounds/ clocks but no luck. I noticed that with clocks the screen timeout at around 6 seconds already. Miui version 12.5.3 if that matters (za version) if that matters.

Sorry, I forgot a step!

At the bottom of Developer Options, disable Miui optimisation. Screenshot_2021-12-24-07-17-14-707_com.android.settings.jpg

Thank you sir, it works. Much appreciated. I even disabled developers mode again. Now just to monitor what impact turning off Miui optimization has on battery use.
Great! Glad it works. I didn't use the phone for long enough before disabling MIUI optimisation to know if there's any difference. So I'm keen to hear if there is one. But AOD for me is non-negotiable.

So my daughter lost the remote to our MI tv box S. Anyone know where I can buy one locally? Its the one with netflix shortcut and google button with mic.
