The Official Xiaomi Thread

I did a factory reset 10 days ago and my father's A9's storage is already full. I honestly don't know what's happening. I checked the WhatsApp folders and it's not WhatsApp that's causing this.
Don't know why this is but app cache + data isn't all reported under "Apps and Data" - it falls under "Other".

You can test that by clicking on apps and data and clearing cache or cache+data for an app.

Google files has a new feature called "bin" which holds deleted files for 30 days before permanently deleting them.

That's something I picked up a Month ago when my deleted files were not increasing my available storage lol.

The default Xiaomi one
Shucks. I don't use that one.

This has to be something simple because I would of read about it on the forums I visit and noone has mentioned this problem before. Even GSM Arena comments section doesn't mention this issue.....

Does anyone still import Xiaomi from Aliexpress? Shipping prices are not what they used to be before on Aliexpress which doesn't make it feasible...

Brought one in from Giztop a month or 2 ago. Fluid DHL experience.

Option B is Amazon but not the biggest selection.

I managed to get my Note 9s from Sunsky through Aramex. Post covid as well.

How much did customs and total fees cost on DHL and Aramex?

Shipping with DHL on Aliexpress is $40 so works out to the same with Giztop

Sunsky automatically reduces your invoice value to like 10% of the value of your order. I just clicked next next, next, next, and only noticed when I paid very little for customs (Aramex contacts you when it gets to JHB to say how much you need to pay). I should have paid more attention but was not expecting that.

DHL had huge problems and they refused to mail anything with a battery. It took about 1 month to get the phone from when I clicked order to when I got it in my hand. Aramex was ok. Just had to harass them throughout.

Sunsky had great service but only uses Skype (so random) for CS queries.

IIRC about R800 for DHL when I ordered from Giztop

Now this is the bargain of the day, for the ultra daring people out there...

The Mi Mix 4 normally goes for R16,000+.

found a very interesting goods in Gearbest:Global Version Mi MIX4 Camera Face Recognition Fingerprint Unlock Phone 7.3 inch 16GB+1T Android 12 4G/5G 48MP+72M - 16GB 512GB black https://gearbest.app.link/sTewL2x5pob

I wanna root for Xiaomi but the amount of issues these phones have are not worth a R15000 headache.

They have such a half arsed attempt at software updates and customer support.

They give zero ****s.

Maybe a 6k to max 8k phone with the best of everything and I can overlook some of the overheating, camera, screen and in general software bug after software bug experience.

Not for 15k though.. That's like burning money for fun.

Mia Africa is fast asleep

The Redmi Note 11 line launched internationally.

The Redmi 10C is launching aswell.

Xiaomi is growing too fast to control.
I believe this is going to not end well for them. Especially with quality of software updates.
