I wonder how tough the display that bends is.....also prone to scratches etc?
The Samsung fold was an expensive failure. I'd caution anyone considering this phone to wait a good few months to see how things shape up after some months of usage.
There's lots of unhappy Samsung customers who only discovered the display problems after a while -- reviewers won't be able to see the problems over the week or even month period of testing.

Finally got this, after 2 failed attempts with ARAMEX and DPEX, 3rd attempt was with TNT from Hong Kong.
Ditching my Pixel 5a for a while. Missed that IR Blaster and built-in call recording.

Where did you buy from?

I was holding out for the F4, but when the reviews came in and GSMarena showed it has slightly less battery life than the F3, I pulled the trigger on a locally available sealed F3 and am very very happy.

AliExpress. But never again. Nobody wants to ship phones out of China and Hong Kong to SA.

Was also leaning towards F3 but it costs almost the same and it's a year old. If I could get the F3 cheaper I would have settled for the F3

How much are you all in for the F4?

I paid R6200 for my 6/128gb F3 from a local importer, including courier.

Wow!

When I bought my 8GB/256GB F3 recently (in the UK) it was just over half the price of the F4. £180 vs £340.

Tried out Pixel Experience android 12 on my MI 9, had battery drain, running CRDroid now, works great, lots of extra features.
Also had problems with battery drain on Pixel Experience (Redmi 9) but the maintainer/dev has since fixed it and the latest release has been good for a few weeks now.

Did you have notification issues with MIUI at all?

My Miui 12.5 ran perfectly, no issues of any kind. But since the mi 9 was skipped for miui 13 I decided to take the plunge as I've been delaying for a long time.

Was concerned with a good camera app, but have a properly working gcam so I'm a happy chappy.

If you're having battery problems with a custom roms like PE, crDroid, etc - then it's typically due to the Playstore battery polling issue.

Then run this from Terminal (requires root) to fix the problem by disabling the GmsIntentOperationService service.
(if you don't have Terminal, then you can grab Terminal Emulator from the App store)

su -c pm disable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService

This reduced battery drain significantly on 5 devices that I "maintain" for family.
