Redmi A3 @ R2k - but no stock yet.

I was putting this off but since two days ago my Redmi 9T is having serious battery drain problems. Hardly lasts a day and it pretty hot at the back, only charges with a QC charger. Can't fault it though, it has had a very rough and demanding 3 years of service with me. The Moto G14 looks like a good deal over at Pepcell - been a while since I had a Motorola.

I have the 2019 Mi 9T and it did this only after an update, sometime last year. I rolled it back and it was back to its normal self. Then it got fixed in the next update and running smoothly again.

I do run custom roms, so this might have been the euro rom (or Resurrection Remix). I'm on Lineage rom currently.

My last update was in October last year. This was just out of the blue. I think a factory reset will solve it but if I go through that hassle I might as well setup a new phone.

Redmi note 11 here, just received they "HyperOS" update yesterday, not much changes noted.
Previous phone was a note 9s imported from china before it was available here, I thoroughly enjoyed this phone which led me to buy the (reasonably priced) note 11 when my 9s dropped for the umpteenth time and cracked.
Based on specs it was a very slight downgrade in some areas, I thought I wouldnt notice but yea this has led me to the thinking that if youre going redmi you need to go for the pro/s models etc with 6gb+ ram if you multi task and use your phone for more than just whatsapp and social media etc as the 4gb on the standard model is just enough to make lag noticible when multitasking and the phone feels just short of good in overall terms.

Just bagged myself a S24 Ultra this week to see what all the hype is about.
And my POCO F5 received Feb patch this morning. This F5 is running sweet. Just can't get down to making the switch.

I have a Note11, yesterday i saw there was a new update "HyperOS", I didnt install it, now I see its gone.

Has it been nuked?

FML.... After spending R2200 on a new moto g14, setting it up and then doing a factory reset on the Note 9T it is running just like new. Ag nee man!

I made a post about it here : https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/motorola-phones.1085739/#post-32635421

Was R2200 from Pep Cell, they seem to be the only place selling Motorola. It comes with a silicone case in the box and the Pakistani shop at the mall fitted a screen protector for R100.
Nice! The reason why I asked was I see PEP only has the 64gb version but on gsmarena it gives a 128gb version. That would have been nice! Must say, for the price ect I am impressed.

Some of the specs on the PEP Cell website is wrong - for example the camera only goes up to 12.5 MP - there is no way you can get 50 MP images from this phone.
It does have 4GB RAM but storage is only 64GB. They do come with NFC in South Africa.

The price is the only reason I went for it over the Redmi A3. Might still get the Redmi A3 if the price is more inline with the current range of A phones at around R1500.

Ek wou sê die specs lyk te goed om waar te wees :) But this will still work for what I need to do.

I updated when it popped up, to be fair I was keeping a keen eye for its arrival, had read about potential issues and having updated a mibox and temporarily bricking it (restored with a bit of effort) I was slightly hesitant to update but it went smoothly, no major changes but I would say it does feel like a slight improvement in performance and usage, no bugs/issues noticed yet.

I have my Redmi Note 11 for about a year and a half now. It never gave me issues but I noticed that from today, the volume button is acting strange. It automatically goes up the moment I even lightly tap it.

I'm trying to investigate whether it is a software of hardware issue but I would think hardware since the issue happens after I restart the device. Has anyone else had this issue?

The phone was 6.5k but I am thinking about just leaving it this time until the phone gives in. There are ways to change the volume without the button (though it will get annoying). I'm hesitant to take it to a Pakistani guy. I did that with an old phone and the volume button was not the same again even after he repaired it.

Q20 does the trick, well it did for me on my Note 9T when the power button started acting funny. Could be moisture or dirt and Q20 deals with that nicely.
