Can get a i5 cpu for the price of an i3 http://www.mineaway.co.za/DESKTOPS/PC-HARDWARE/Processors

Does it have to be itx?

I looked at mineway first (have bought often from there) but I didn't see any in stock (unless I didn't look correctly).

Doesn't have to be mini-itx, only looked at that cause of the case. The PC is going to be used in an office so not looking for a flashy "gaming" case, something that looks nice tho.

Why you ask?

m-itx pushes the price of the mb & case up.

Example, https://www.rebeltech.co.za/14796-asrock-h110m-dvs-r30.html

Next add a nice Micro-ATX case.

Perfect thanks.

So are you saying I should go for that mb? Will it work with the i5 7500?

Will see what Micro-ATX cases I can find quick.

I confirmed with rebeltech before that all ASRock Rev. 3 boards are kaby lake ready out of the box and do not require a bios flash.

OK so updates items then:

CPU: i5 7500

Mobo: ASRock H110M

Ram: Corsair 4GB

PSU: EVGA

SSD: WD Green 240GB

Case: Just need to find a M-ATX Case

DVD Drive: LG (this is still a maybe tho)

Does that look better?

Instead of the internal DVD drive, rather get an external one and use it for all devices?
Not sure if this is sold: http://carbonite.co.za/showthread.php?167685-External-dvd-writer

I have an external one and have used it once in about three years now. No real point getting one anymore.
Otherwise you can get a second hand one (the one you linked) off of carbonite: http://carbonite.co.za/showthread.php?186864-LG-GH24NSD1-Internal-SATA-24x-Super-Multi-DVD-Rewriter

Not even sure if they need one yet, just put it on the list in the meantime.

The cost of buying it second had with shipping will put it over the price of it new especially if I am already paying shipping for the other items.

Just for info - I'm currently moving my PC to a an Enthoo Evolv case (this one)

First impressions of the interior of the case are positive...the glass panels are a pain in the ass. They not hinged or anything convenient like that - they're mounted on 4 rubber grommets very precariously imo. The weight of the glass is the only thing keeping it on the side of the case (a significant bump would knock the glass off, I'm sure).

If it wasn't a gift, I would have not used it ...will use it for awhile then move to something else when Ryzen 2 comes out in April or so.

What BIOS issues just so I know what to ask?

The older chipset boards do not ship with kaby lake cpu support so your cpu will not work in that board if it's not running the correct bios version, the catch 22 is you need a skylake cpu installed in order to flash the bios...

Here is a more expensive option https://www.rebeltech.co.za/14055-asrock-b250m-hdv.html

More sata & usb ports. Also take note of the Ultra M.2 (PCIe Gen3 x4 & SATA3) port!

Will that MB work out the box then with the CPU and case etc?

I know you said this is just for a office PC but getting a board with an M.2 slot isn't a bad idea, you can get a 256GB OEM M.2 drive on Carb for ~1300 that has a 2700MB/s read and 1050MB/s write speed, that will blow his socks off.
