Notice there is not a CPU cooler included, if I am not mistaken.

Can a significant improvement be made by checking an extra 6-7 thousands rands to that setup?

Think the GPU, is good enough, but will check with my Son.

Yes you will need a cooler. Someone here on mybb sells noctua coolers btw, I'm not a watercooling fan.

I would look at a 3060ti/3070, 3060ti will probably give you a decent boost vs cost.

I just quickly chucked stuff into a basket to give you an idea.

Do you need monitor/keyboard/mouse? Either way R30k is not gonna get you a high-end gaming rig. Intel is also gonna cost more.

Why an I7 for gaming, the 10core I5 will be fine, don't know if the 2 extra cores would really be worth it for 3k more?
Ideally I'd also throw in a 256GB ssd for the OS, so 256GB for OS 1TB for games

Not that up do date with the latest systems but this is pretty high end. Could maybe upgrade the GPU and add some cooling but this system looks good to me. Also maybe a 2 tb ssd games these days take up lots of space

Here is a cheap good cpu cooler https://www.wootware.co.za/cooler-m...2-rgb-black-edition-120mm-fan-cpu-cooler.html

For content creation, assuming encoding loads a CPU similarly to Cinebench, cheap-ish air cooling might not be good enough for the 12770K.
I know for the 12900K, there doesn't exist an air cooler than can keep it below 95C, and even a 240mm radiator isn't good enough.

For gaming the thermals isn't really an issue.

Sigh bought an nvme drive put it in, lose 2 sata drives, though I always thought it would disable the ASATA ports, starting to wonder if nvme is really worth it will test it once I've had power for a while as I'll have to shift drives now

Now freaking the smaller ssd clones exact size to the larger one, when extending it, it overwrites it and becomes not boot able. May need a reinstall

I have an Asus tuf gaming motherboard. I'm using all 6 SATA ports and 1 of the 2 nvme ports. All 7 ports work just fine together. One day when I'm big I may test the second nvme pretty 6 as well...

Yeah the gigabyte board allowed me to use the Sata ports until I plugged in the NVME drive, then bam suddenly only 2? It's like wtf

I saw that in the specs when I was shopping for a board... They tend to skimp on some areas...

Say what, it's designed to work like that, disable the SATA ports if you use the Nve ports?

Is it an NVMe drive or is it just a SATA drive with a M.2 form factor?
Yep. There are a number of boards that "share" bandwidth between ports to reduce cost. With my new build, 6 SATA and 1 NVME that work concurrently was one of my must-have requirements. This disqualified a large number of boards on my initial short-list.
