I cannot decide for the life of me between an Intel 12600k build and a Ryzen 5600x build. Both come to similar prices but both will be replaced by a whole new chipset and system later this year.

The timing on all of this.
Why not just wait? It’s May already. Assuming you can.

PC exploded during all the power issues during the Floods in KZN. It's my full work and gaming pc. I am using the work laptop but my productivity is at like 10% due to this.

Okay so 32GB ram and 5600 now in my machine.
Frame rates are only up by maybe 5 to 7 from the 2600, but the difference is the gpu temperature even at 100% usage now stays at 70 instead of 80 and it hits higher clocks. So the 2600 was holding it back a bit.
Next up a 750w and a 3070ti :) the old 2060 super will be 3 in November it's had a good run. My son says he now wants the 2600 and the 2060 super when it's up.

Congrats! Personally grab yourself something like an 850W platinum when they go on sale (which is often) and wait for the 4000 series if you are going to wait for November anyway.

True will look at that. My only issue is now the freaking cabling is a mess :( can't have the fan in the same position as it was cause of RAM using all slots.

One of the best investments for a PC for the cost, is a proper Case.

I have 32GB and would recommend 64GB all day long. Run into RAM limitiations since I have grown to now host numerous VMs on my komper.

Just look at that sucker spike as I fare up 1 VM. Oh, and the 4 slots is BS, this is an ITX board so I have both DIMM slots filled.

Anybody have slimmish laptop 11800h cpu?

Mine cookes, and get 70% gpu usage if im lucky on warzone due cpu only run at base 2.3ghz. Turbo does not last long due running 95c!!

Laptop msi gl66 with rtx 3070, which is waste and cpu cant be cooled enough to feed the 3070.

I did repaste the laptop and the heatsinks and and pipes are getting hot.

Have you tried using one of the those laptop cooler platform’s with big fans in them?

Thinking of doing the same, but don't think I can give up the custom upgradability though. Think a nice tiny ITX system might be the solution.
