I never overclock, at least not anymore. My experience is that the gains you obtain, are not worth the lowered life expectancy for the devices. If you want something the has 4 turbo's on, buy it, don't try bolting them on afterwards.

I would swap that GPU for a 2060 Super.

Depending on your workload, 32GB might be overkill. If it's a gaming PC, 16GB is just fine. However, Ryzen CPUs respond nicely to RAM speed upgrades. Drop to 16GB but upgrade to a faster speed (minimum 3200MHz) for some nice gains.

Not sure how well that case breathes - seems quite restricted on the front. Maybe do a bit of research to confirm but Ryzen does run a little hot - I'd want some front intake fans.

I was going for 32GB RAM due to it not being a gaming pc but more for editing video footage. It's when I do 4K that I'll need more but unsure at this stage what is required. Will opt for 3200mhz as well.

I'll look into the case and fans but I'm a bit unsure of the liquid cooled fans. I haven't built a pc in 10 years and my old one is struggling with 2k so the 4k isn't even an option.

Bad timing to build... but it is what it is...

Ryzens don't run hotter actually, that's an old carry over from the older AMD days.

Okay yea then the additional RAM would pay dividends. If it's for video editing I don't know if there'd be much reason to go for a more expensive GPU - someone with more experience in that field will have to advise on that one.

What do you mean by liquid cooled fans? Do you mean the fans for the radiator? If you're not getting the AIO then you could just slap some case fans at the top, will help with airflow and keeping temps nicely under control.

i also wouldn't buy Windows from Wootware / Evetech. Just get a retail key from Carb for R99 - they're legit and work perfectly, I've used a few of them.. I bought from Letumkeys - his response was rapid (like within the hour) and the key worked perfectly.

The 2060 is a decent video editing card, but for real video editing there is still the Matrox cards, people don't realise they still exist, but they aren't normal consumer cards, they also are about the price of a RTX 2070

A B450 board will be fine.
2666MHz RAM is a no-no.
Case has ba airflow
Only 1yr warranty on parts!?
Try for a 5700xt

Thanks for the link. That will save about R2500.

I think I'll stick to the regular fans. Perhaps add some top fans at a later stage if it does run hotter for some reason.

Yes, definately looking at faster RAM now.

Talking under correction now... but from what I understand the B450 requires a BIOS flash...? just what a saw on a couple of youtube videos where they paired the 3700 with B450.

Probably depends on the age of the B450 board. I'd imagine that most if not all of the B450 boards that you can buy today support the latest Ryzen chips.

Depends on the board, when it was produced and not the chipset.
Boards with biosflashback feature are cool as you can flash them without a cpu.

They won't give you a cooler with the CPU if it's completely inadequate. I run the 3700X with the stock cooler, and it idles around 55C, and gets around 80C with intensive usage.

There is one annoyance though. It will sometimes speed up the fan, then cool down and slow down the fan, then get warmer, and speed up the fan etc....
A custom fan profile fixed it though.
 
Thanks everyone for the information so far. Will see when the next quote comes through. I'll probably only order the parts and put together here at home and install Windows as was suggested earlier.
 
Remember, components with RGB will give you a 1012% performance increase. It's why PCs are faster than consoles.

Yup definitely, my 2600 is 1000% faster than the 1600AF cause my 2600 machine has 4 RGB fans, RGB RAM and rgb strips on the mobo.
