Need some advice on a new gpu

My goal is to play at 1440p or 4k on a 120hz tv which only has hdmi and my 1070 ti doesn’t do hdmi 2.1. I mostly play rocket league and hardly ever pick up any AAA games.

I can get a 3060 ti fe for €350 - I am in Europe - which equates to about R6k. Is this a decent deal for the card? I haven’t been keeping up with gpus or their prices for quite a while.

My advise is always to start playing Xonotic instead of what you are currently playing. The rest will follow naturally

Good card but I don't trust 8gb vram on 4k. Even at 1440p I'm maxing 8gb vram. Maybe try rx 6750xt or rx6800

Secondhand Grfx card prices on Carb have plummeted in the last few months, 1080TI's used to be R9k, now as low at R6k, a 1070 can now be had for as low as R4k.
Good times, is it worth selling my 1070ti 8GB and getting a 1080ti 11GB?
The 1080ti seems to draw a huge amount of power though, almost double the 1070ti for a 25% performance boost.

I would try and push rtx 3060 I think saw low as R6600, support ray tracing and DLSS

I'm quite partial to Super Flower but any higher up model from a good brand will do.

That 500W one is a new product so I have not seen any reviews on it yet but their products usually get good reviews and you get a 5yr warranty. Just for the record your build as specced has an absolute max power draw of ~250W which it will never reach so 500W is ample.

Yeah that R5 2600 6C/12T is really good value for money compared to the i5 8400 6C/6T which costs R550 more and you can overclock the 2600 ;)

PS Just confirm you can run that RAM at the higher speeds on that MB.

I've come back to this. Due to getting a work laptop and travels I put this whole thing on hold for a while, a long while, but I have settled down now at long last. I am guessing there have been a lot of developments in hardware since 2019. Is this still a valid build to go with ?

I would rather opt for 5600x or 5800x cpu now.

Things have changed a bit, what's your budget currently and what components do you need?

Hey man, it's been a while since I've come back to this thread! It's a have to now to get this done because my current desktop is way way behind and has to be replaced. Even running two instances of visual studio and sql it starts huffing and puffing. My budget is 8k.

I need motherboard, cpu, ram and power supply. That's it! I have everything else including a decent gpu.

Alder Lake i5? this is for gaming IIRC? I am incredibly happy with the performance and value of my 12400 (using a 3070 ti)

Yeah bit of gaming, maybe some wow or some older games, nothing too heavy. And then also work related stuff.

Just to give you an idea of what I'm on, a core i3 on an Asus H110M-R motherboard and 8g ram :giggle:

I too used to use a calculator for work. I feel your pain.

Hi.
I'm putting together a new PC. Any last minute suggestions? (Anything I left out?). I'll be buying in the coming week. I know there are new processors and graphics cards on the way, but I can not wait any longer. Current PC is very old and I'm struggling to run newer games. Feels a bit over the top, but it must last again for a few years. I'll be buying from Wootware and Techfox.
