I have a Samsung nvme on a 5600X and a Samsung SSD on a12-year old i7. There is not a marked difference in startup time or in the time required to open the bigger programs. Sure, the nvme is faster, but not by THAT much.Or a nvme a slow ssd pc? Hehe.
OTOH, I recently upgraded my sister's 15-year old i5 laptop. I measured the before and after start-up times. This dropped from 1 minute 45 second down to 18 seconds, after simply cloning the disk and putting in the SSD.
SSD to NVME is an incremental change.
HDD to SSD is like wow
